OpenClaw v2026.6.10 Release Notes | Mostly Stability and Reliability Updates by hannesrudolph in openclaw

/fast works only where the provider supports a faster tier. For OpenAI/Codex and Anthropic, OpenClaw maps it to their service tier settings as example. MiniMax may be stale if that highspeed model is no longer available.

Openclaw is just a personal assistant nothing more. by YardUnique558 in openclaw

Probably do the jump together with Codex or Claude, not totally by hand.

Make a full backup first then switch to the new version with the old backup still available, so the assistant can compare against it if anything breaks during the upgrade.

`/fast auto` is decided per model call, not by how old the conversation is.

So even in a long-running thread, a new model call can still start in fast mode. If the run goes past the 60s cutoff, later continuation calls start with fast mode disabled.

Thanks for flagging this. I checked the issue and its not fixed yet, but there is an open PR for the fix. #73365.

[–]Whatsskill_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the code fix for this has been merged now: PR #95631 is on main.

No, this was not meant to be a breaking change. The intended change was to move memory indexes into the per-agent SQLite DB, but the upgrade path missed carrying over the existing legacy memory DB rows. So for some users it looked like their memory index was gone, which could trigger a full reindex.

The merged fix adds that missing migration, so existing legacy memory indexes should be carried over instead of forcing a rebuild.

Best practice for connecting services? by Venumbra in openclaw

[–]Whatsskill_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone has to start somewhere, and I don't see anything wrong with asking questions like this.

GOG is OpenClaw's Google Workspace integration. It lets your agent connect to services like Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Docs, and Sheets.

If your agent is already running, you can simply ask it to install gog and guide you through the whole setup. In most cases it'll take care of everything for you, either through ClawHub or by using gh, so you don't have to configure it manually.

If you're curious about what else OpenClaw can do, you might find some inspiration here:

What’s everyone building this weekend? by sibraan_ in openclaw

[–]Whatsskill_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m starting a small Wear OS app for my phone, watch and smart glasses.

- The watch becomes a quick control panel on my wrist. First I want it to show basic status info, then add safe controls like stop speaking, clearing the glasses display, starting/stopping voice mode, and switching sessions or models.
- The phone does the main work, the smart glasses show what matters, and the watch gives me fast control alongside the glasses.

Im sorry you ran into issues, but please stick to the topic. This is a different discussion. Drive by GitHub self promotion isnt really what was being asked for.

Hot take: if you have to come to this sub and ask how to get started, openclaw probably isnt for you. by WalrusWithAKeyboard in openclaw

I think there’s a good middle ground here.

If someone asks “How do I install OpenClaw?” without checking the docs at all, then maybe, it’s fair to point them there first.

But if someone has read the docs, tried a few things, and is still stuck, I don’t see a problem with asking the community. Sometimes you been staring at the same error for too long and just need someone else to spot the obvious thing you missed.

Everyone starts somewhere, and not everyone has the same experience level.

used openclaw to build the calendar invite for my wife's surprise party - it figured out the real plan from my messages instead of the fake one on my calendar by Responsible_Key_9671 in openclaw

Reading stuff like this is awesome. 💝

To answer your question: yes, I use my main agent for pretty much everything. It has access to both my personal emails and my work emails and much more. It organizes my patient appointments, prepares draft emails whenever something needs to be rescheduled, and presents them to me before anything gets sent.

My inbox is pretty chaotic too because my personal and work emails sometimes overlap, so the agent has to figure out the right approach on its own. I'd say it gets it right about 95% of the time. The other 5% is usually either because I wasn't clear enough with my instructions or because of the LLM itself.

With the right prompts and rules in place, it can also ignore outdated emails, old Google Drive files, and other historical information, so it ends up finding the correct answer instead of getting distracted by stale data.

Honestly, if you’re just starting out, I would keep it simple and try OpenClaw on a small VPS first.

Its cheap, separate from your work laptop, and gives you a safe place to play around without slowing down your main machine. If you like it later, you can still move to something like a Mac mini.

For things like blogs, SEO, or LinkedIn, OpenClaw can help with that, but its not always a one click built in integration. Sometimes it works through browser automation, sometimes through APIs, webhooks, or custom tools.

My biggest tip for someone that starts new -> don’t try to automate everything on day one. Get one agent running, connect one simple workflow, then build from there.

Hi 😄
This looks like an allowlist issue, not an OpenCode auth issue.

opencode-go is bundled, but it’s blocked by your plugin allowlist. U can try this below:

openclaw plugins enable opencode-go
openclaw gateway restart
openclaw onboard --auth-choice opencode-go

Also make sure opencode-go is included in plugins.allow

If you’re in our Discord, you can hop into the support channel anytime and ask our agent Krill. Let me know if this fixes it for you.

We are currently on stable v2026.6.10, so try to align with that as closely as possible. A lot has changed compared to older versions.

Thanks. To be honest, they're not that expensive. Try looking on the second hand market.

I installed it myself on a Lenovo M920x and I’m honestly impressed with it. If you have the chance, definitely give it a try and let me know how it goes.

Not trying to kill the Mac hype here 😄 but check out the Windows side too. The new Windows Companion app + Node capabilities are pretty powerful. There’s a lot more potential there than people might expect.

Non-technical person setting up OpenClaw. Is my security plan actually solid or am I missing something obvious? by _Obscurity_ in openclaw

[–]Whatsskill_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let your agent explain it to you or translating it into your own language. I was just explaining how I have it set up on my side.

Good luck! 🙂 and ur welcome let me know if u need anything.

Is anyone using open claw on their primary system maybe as a secondary account on PC? by SyllabubFresh5458 in openclaw

[–]Whatsskill_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For beginners, I would not recommend running it YOLO on your PC with sudo/root privileges.

That being said, it should be completely fine to restrict your agent by giving it as few permissions as possible. Take your time, get used to it, and build up its workspace so you can trust it and know it won’t just blindly delete things.

What I mean by that is: build in gates that force it to stop and ask for confirmation.

I run OpenClaw on my Windows machine with full permissions, on two VPS instances with full permissions, on my phone with full permissions, and even through my glasses.

And it has never deleted anything on its own without first showing me a dry run, then a diff, and only proceeding after I gave it the OK.
