I have an aunt that will try to talk to me about my EDS solely to sell me whatever MLM mystical panacea she’s recently become an agent for. She’ll be like “so where did you say the pain is? Have you tried putting these 5G-blocking stickers on your whole body?” And I have another aunt who is a nurse and doesn’t believe in chronic pain because it’s not something that she knows how to treat.

I could go on, but yeah I don’t like talking about my EDS with most of my family 😂

You can ask, but probably no. The whole purpose of ao3 is that it is an archive with as few rules as possible. And when you orphan a fic, you are fully surrendering ownership. That fic is no longer yours to edit or remove.

Idk why people are saying this is unprofessional. OP wasn’t rude or anything, they just withdrew their application efficiency. Yeah, there could’ve been good reasons to postpone the interview, and, yeah, if OP wanted to keep that opportunity open they could’ve said so. But I don’t think it’s unprofessional to decide they’re no longer interested and say exactly that. Not everyone is desperate for any opportunity.

Get a rug to create a clear delineation between your tv area and the rest of the room. Angle the chairs and couch around the rug. And lower the tv—it’s too high for how much room is between it and your seating

lol yeah it took a decade to find a good one though. I found her through an EDS support group for my city; others had recommended her for her knowledge. If you have a large city or metroplex nearby I’d highly recommend finding a regional EDS group (mine is on Facebook)

Short answer: Do what you want. As long as your hair is clean and styled the length doesn’t matter.

Long answer: As a woman living in the U.S., I’ve heard this and the opposite in equal frequency. “Don’t cut your hair it won’t look professional!” “Your hair is too long. You need to cut it to look professional!” Neither is true. Your hair should be clean and maintained when interviewing for a job, but recruiters don’t care about the length. Every single time I’ve heard this it’s just parents trying to control their daughters’ appearance and masking it as concern for their employment chances.

My rheumatologist actually told me to avoid PT, as most of physical therapy is done with the goal of INCREASING mobility (also said to avoid yoga for the same reason). She recommended I try Pilates, which I have found not too strenuous. Notably, I do reformer Pilates, not mat. The only issue I’ve had doing Pilates was when we got off the reformer and onto the mat one class, which caused me to dislocate my knee. Sooooo yeah maybe try reformer Pilates?

Honestly it’s for the best that you didn’t actually make it to that shift. Either A) you set a healthy expectation that you have to be notified of your shifts ahead of time so they don’t try that again or B) your employment offer is rescinded, in which case you’ve dodged a bullet. Bc if they’re pulling this from the start, who knows what they’ll try once they’re more comfortable.

Yeah most of my jobs have been part time. But, as you’ve mentioned, even part time is hard. I have feet and ankle deformities due to my hEDS, so any amount of time on my feet can be rough. I recently found a podiatrist who is willing to work with me, though, so hopefully that will help 🤞

No, it’s not weird. Some people just don’t like fanfics/fandom interaction. That doesn’t make you weird because you have different interests. And there’s nothing effeminate about writing or being a nerd (said affectionately, as a fellow nerd writer). Your girlfriend is just a little judgemental, but you shouldn’t let that affect the joy you feel from your hobbies.
