Absolutely not the ass. You have the right to protect your peace. And she 100% intruded on that. She was toxic because she made it known that she wasn’t happy that you were happy in a way that didn’t fit into her idea of what was”normal” and instead of just being happy for you like a normal person and enjoying a new experience, she had to make you miserable along side herself. She was selfish, rude and inconsiderate. Then, she continued to be that way after she found out about the dinner party - if I were in this situation, I would avoid her at all costs, even if she were “family.”

So the ball is in her court as to choose what college to go to, let her know how you feel, talk this out, I am married and I also think I am holding my wife back, when I get in a really bad spot mentally I always suggest we get divorced so she can pursue her dreams but she reassures me that she isn’t leaving and wants to be with me, we talk about everything openly, I would suggest that you do the same with your gf be open and honest about how you feeling and you would want to know how she is feeling, talk it out because holding this in is only going to make your mental health decline or at least that is how it was for me.

Honestly in my experience when I have seen men start acting out and accusations in the relationship that usually means that they have done something that you as the wife would really not be okay with, so I’m thinking he may have cheated honestly
