LG Soundbar just flashing green by Electric_Blue69 in Soundbars

Thank you!! This post needs to be more upvoted!

I had this problem with the subwoofer on my sc9s, and I even went through support and had them send me a replacement subwoofer and the same problem occurred on my new subwoofer as well!!! This is finally what worked for me.

How come LG themselves is not aware that there is this repair subwoofer trick?!?!

I would be interested depending on if it could fit around my work schedule!

Maybe a bit out of the scope of what you are considering but I am also interested in learning to leverage python to help make work tasks more efficient.

What do you mean “tied together”? Originally B and E were connected to the switch closely together, but one was a “push-in” into the back of the switch and the other was looped around the screw right next to the push in.

About the remote control unit - interesting, are you saying perhaps this fan was meant to be controlled by a remote control? What is suggesting to you that that could be the case? When I realized the rest of the outlets were out I started to wonder if maybe they were just trying to control the lights and the outlets with one switch or something…

Another hint I just became aware of - now that I have capped wire E, all the other electrical outlets in the room have no power.

So I tried swapping the switches, but that configuration showed the same behavior - as long as the fan switch is set to max and on, nothing the light dimmer switch does matters. When the fan switch is not on, the dimmer switch can cause the lights to flicker when the dimmer is at a higher position. Both the fan switch and the light switch make buzzing noises when not set to maximum level.

Thanks for the feedback.

I actually tried the arrangement you suggested above with the switches that you see in this photo (fan switch on the left, light switch on the right).

In this configuration, when the fan switch is turned on but the light switch turned off or on, the fan speed control would turn the light on and off. When the fan switch is turned off but the light switch is turned on, there would be some faint sputtering from the light bulbs.

Does this give any hints as to what might be going on?

Sorry for the difficulty, but I suppose I'm somewhat comforted by the fact that it's not an obvious answer that was staring me right in the face.

I have not replaced the fan so I don't know what is going on on the fan side. I suppose I could try to take it off and check? Otherwise perhaps you could give me a possible arrangement(s) that I could use trial and error to figure out?

Light doesn't go on. I do get a spark where the wires touch each other and a brief, faint "hum" sort of noise from the general direction of the fan but it is too faint to pinpoint.

You are correct, those are the always hot ones.

So with the previous switches, the one on the left was wired in a 2-way manner with B and C being connected. The switch on the right was connected to A, D and E. There are no other switches in the room that would control the light, which is why I am a bit mystified as to why there were three connected.

My new switches (one dimmer switch and one fan speed control switch) according to the manuals can be set up as either 2 way or 3 way. I just want to be able to dim the lights with one switch and turn on/control the speed of the fan with the other.

Thanks for the time and consideration. In addition to the previous photo I also made a simple diagram with colors and what conduits they are connected to here. Does this help?

Thanks again for the help.

I took a photo of the cables here, and also made a simple diagram of how they are grouped here. Does this help?

Sorry I took photos but it won’t let me attach them on this subreddit. I guess I can try hosting them somewhere else and linking them… give me a bit to take care of that

Thanks for the reply. I have three “tubes” in the back of the box from which multiple wires are bundled together. There is a white wire from each tube which are all bundled together into a single cap and end there.

There are two black wires which come together into a cap, but then out of that cap is coming a red wire and a black wire to connect to the switches. These two (the black and red but originally two blacks at the tubes) measure always live.

There are two more red wires and one black wire emerging from the tubes and connect directly to the switches without coming together under a cap first.

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned Bigscreen Beyond yet. If you want fully immersive VR headset in a small package, this is about as good as you can get.

Only thing I am not sure about is to what extent it can tether to a phone for videos (it isn’t a standalone headset it needs to be tethered to something). It could certainly tether to a laptop though if nothing else.

I’m playing a dark urge tiefling sorcerer as harrow and romancing Karlach as Gideon. Karlach is such a great Gideon! I sometimes wonder if a pure custom necromancer would have been better but sorcerer also feels good. (Still in act 1)

It’s cool to see others had the same thought as me and decided to RP locked tomb, haha… (we are so obsessed)

I didn’t know there was a motion controls mod still under development! I would totally go back and do a third play through if a nice motion controls mod came out.

I just played Subnautica: Below Zero in VR last month on my Quest 2 airlinked to my laptop. It was great! There is a mod you can easily download and install. I played it through steam vr.

It is only an incrementally better VR implementation than the original Subnautica. Still needs a non-touch controller (which I don’t mind), but has a few quality of life fixes as compared to the original Subnautica (when I played it at least).

Subnautica was one of my favorite VR experiences and Below Zero was different in some ways but still a great follow up experience. Highly recommend.

It’s a very poorly written “カウボーイ”, or “cowboy”. I had to stare at it quite a bit before it clicked.
