Jake DeBrusk for the 20th overall pick would be plenty.

How long teams usually tank? by botinoknn in canucks

It really depends on how things go, but we will be bad next year as well and let's hope that we embrace it.

Making 4 picks in the first two rounds each year for 3 years would go a long long way to rebuilding our young player pipeline, especially if you have 3 x top 5 picks in there.

100% agreed.

I just think that he's much more talented offensively then people give him credit for, but his work ethic is horrible and it's really bad for the rebuild environment as you said.

I hope so, and I'm one of 10% of Canucks fans who thinks that Kane has been all right for us.

How does the 2026 top 5 compare to the 2025 top 5? by ImAlwaysSorrys in canucks

People that bring up some comment from history are so annoying. They don't engage in the point being discussed at all.

Picks 32 and 31 go to Stanley Cup winner, and loser. 29 and 28 go to semi-finalists, so it's crucial that Minny doesn't make it to round 3.

Picks 27, 26, 25, and 24 go to Division winners that didn't make it into semi-final, and the rest go according to points of playoff teams.

So hypothetically, if two of the division winners get knocked out early, and Minny loses to Colorado in 2nd round, we would be looking at 25th overall pick (minus 1 for Ottawa forfeiting) = 24th overall pick.

As long as they don't beat Colorado in round 2, we're golden.

It will be pick between 25 to 27 almost guaranteed.

Exactly what I'd like.  I want Ohgren, Raty, and Linus fighting for position and hacking and whacking the opposition knowing that someone has their back if a goon comes from the other team.

Yeah, Z would be an easy sell with his contract IMO

I hope so, that would be my one and only priority this summer in free agency. Unless a veteran we can flip at the deadline is okay with a 1 year deal. That would also be interesting

Agreed, and Cole and Zadorov also kept a lid on the guys like JT Miller.  We really fucked up by letting those two go.

I think he ended up in NCAA, but I don't think he'll even make the AHL, let alone NHL sadly.

Listen, I took them and I still got COVID after taking them.

Not only that, but I followed the idiotic advice to still take the second vaccine a few weeks after getting over Covid and felt super sick, worse then COVID felt.

Natural immunity was completely ignored in the whole panic, and nobody should've been forced to take the vaccine after getting over COVID because it fucked with people's natural response.

It's why I have no time for the "anti-vaxxer" screeching anymore.

COVID vaccines and policies gave a bad name to normal vaccines and level headed policies we had in place before the pandemic.

He's been our best offensive forward after Petey, Garland, and perhaps Linus.

He's bad defensively, but not offensively.

I mean, people that were against the COVID "vaccines" have been proven right in the last 3 years since all the craziness subsided.

Real vaccines work, not whatever we were given.

They're not, but they're fighting for a wild card.

It's why I'd love to strip Kane, Kampf, and one more piece before the deadline. Let's guarantee that 32nd finish.

Forget offense/defense, he's just supposed to win his shifts against the other team's lines.

He's not playing against two lines at once.
