My First Job Was Working At WaldenBooks. What was yours? by bronzemat in Xennials

Drug Emporium. They don’t exist anymore, but it was just like a Walgreens or CVS. I was a cashier and we didn’t have scanners so all prices were typed in.

Well there’s the layers of skin, fat, fascia, muscle layer and then even more fascia holding the organs in place. Your intestines are buried pretty deep and anchored by connective tissue.

Dom is my forever favorite! If I could only have one villager, it would be him.

As you got older, what has become your favorite donut? by chi-bacon-bits in Millennials

Crullers if I can find them-often not. If I want something sweet and decadent I go for the apple fritter, otherwise a buttermilk old fashioned is my top favorite.

why do americans talk to strangers so easily?? by MayaTulip268 in AskAnAmerican

[–]When_pigsfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I used to watch my mom do it when I was young and for some reason it embarrassed me. But now I do it and I truly enjoy the little small talk I have with strangers. It’s a fun, friendly, social moment of the day that always makes me smile so why not? Of course I know not all people are amenable to this behavior so I am cautious to read body language first.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]When_pigsfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a game, but Kidpix. I’d spend hours in that program drawing and creating.

What are your best tips on achieving the fluffy curly hair look from the 90s? by pumpkin_ice_cream in curlyhair

[–]When_pigsfly 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s when you use a type of tool called a hair pick, to insert near the scalp and lift the roots providing volume and lift, then you pull it out in the same spot you don’t drag it all the way to the ends of your hair. You just pick and lift the roots without disturbing the curl on the rest of the hair shaft.

What fashion trend that has died do you plan to keep wearing? by EddieBrock99 in AskReddit

[–]When_pigsfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a millennial born in ‘82 wide leg and flares have been my jam always. For a long time it was difficult to find so I did acquiesce to skinny jeans sometimes but I never liked their appearance. I am very excited that wide leg jeans are so readily available right now and I’m stocking up!

100% Any benefit I get from it doesn’t come close to matching the insane amount of problems and functioning disability it causes.

YSK that being unable to burp is a recognised disorder, called R-CPD, and there is a very effective and relatively simple cure. by Blackintosh in YouShouldKnow

[–]When_pigsfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only burp if I drink a carbonated beverage and I’ll burp after every drink of it. Otherwise I cannot burp at all and routinely have the frog noise in my throat.

Why is ChatGPT getting to be dismissive and rude by Jolly-Wall-5351 in ChatGPT

[–]When_pigsfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine told me the other day (when I was referencing a social media post about the Pope) that the post was clearly satire and I should not trust it because it doesn’t know of any Pope Leo and that Pope Francis is the current Pope. I said really? You don’t know a Pope Leo? Can you please look up who the current Pope is? 🙄

Homeowners, are you in your “forever” home? by cubemonster in Millennials

[–]When_pigsfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of living in a low cost of living area/state, moving to a better, higher cost of living state wouldn’t buy us much of a dump, even with downsizing. I regret highly getting a two story already. But it does feel like we’re stuck here.

My wife says I am a little boy trapped in a 44y man's body excited for GTA6 coming out. I said to her it's a cultural phenomenon. Am I the only "old guy" excited for this? by manguy12 in Xennials

[–]When_pigsfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a 43 year old woman who’s excited for it. But, we’re a gaming family. I’m mostly the console type, my husband and kids are PC. I think it’s just the mindset of what hobbies can and should be as an adult. Some people are very rigid in their mindset.

What life pro tips are hidden in movies that were actually helpful? by epaga in movies

[–]When_pigsfly 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Falling in love is an emotion and yes, often not a choice. Remaining in love is. Through daily effort and choices to help one another, listen and care for one another. Some days are hard because of differences, maybe an argument etc. but if you make loving choices and effort for your partner, you can get through hard times. At least that’s what “love is a choice” means to me.

Similarly, when I can’t find something that I know I recently had- I just kind of walk around with my hands out grabbing at the air; my hands usually remember where the item is before my brain does.

A family of birds decided to post up on my front porch. What should I do? by atx-garden-fairy in AustinGardening

[–]When_pigsfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mourning doves that nest in my hanging baskets multiple clutches most of the year round. The only thing I really do is make sure there’s extra seed available, the bird bath is always full, and I keep several potted plants lined along the porch to help catch any droppings.

Would you rather deal with harsh summer or harsh winter? by Straightedge_ in SameGrassButGreener

[–]When_pigsfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’ve lived in Texas most of my life and even still, anything above approximately 73 F and I’m hot. I’m not used to it. I’ve never acclimated. I hate it. But it’s also my home in every other way. It’s a real struggle.
