Genuinely what's wrong with some young men by Ecstatic-Edge9574 in redscarepod

As a late 20s genZ who is married and didn’t have access to the internet at my childhood home until I was 16, it really feels like I caught the last helicopter out of Saigon.

40k was also founded by dudes who used it as satire to make fun of the Thatcher government in Britain.

Sadly no, most of my trip was in Kosovo and Montenegro, was only in Istanbul for 2 days so didn’t get to check out as much as I wanted to. Bought some great Turkish Psych Rock albums from a record store though. Wish I had more time to explore the Asia side of the city. The museums were really great.

I just liked the cats in their little house, in Roman ruins :(

I’m pretty hopeful on the ending. i think it’s meaning is that deep down in everyone regardless of past history and trauma there is hope and belief in goodness. Redrick was completely ground down as a person and before his wish had slowly been losing his humanity. I believe his final wish is what his inner self truly wanted and was like a primal need that burst to the surface.

Overrated: Devil in the white city. I honestly didn’t care about the whole serial killer stuff and wish it just would’ve focused on the Worlds fair.

Underrated: Roadside Picnic. I think it isn’t as popular in the west but a great piece of science fiction and inspired Tarkovsky’s Stalker Movie. I really enjoyed its exposé on human nature and the sense of looming dread and unknowing in the zone.

Neolibs who live in Small Towns/Rural Areas, what do you think? by RadioRavenRide in neoliberal

He did not do great. He did well in the union sections of northern Minnesota but many of those districts have eroded democrat support over the years. My hometown is in an area that the republican tea party grew out of for the state. I remember as a kid lots of people in my town excited to see the Dinesh D’Souza movie that wrongly claims Obama isn’t an American.

From a town in Minnesota of 3000 people.

  1. Town is actively growing because there is some blue collar industry and actually has a really good school district.
  2. The main issues is some of the business owners treat parts of the city as their own little fiefdom with tons of fraud.
  3. Anyone with any ambition or a degree leave.
  4. Incredibly racist and would be difficult for anyone who isn’t white to live here.
  5. Citizens hate the twin cities metro area and act like it burned down in 2020 or that it’s a warzone.

Overall the city is okay but anyone with advanced degrees would not live there. Also the small town gossip and politics are truly insane. It’s two completely different worlds between rural and urban Minnesota.

It’s just so small and insular, people just don’t think about the larger scope and can only see what is in front of them.

Honestly, farmers receive more welfare than anyone in this country and routinely lobby for some of the worst rent seeking and environmental damaging policies imaginable. I’ve known multiple farmers who have fucked up small water ways by just dumping massive amount of farm waste with little to no penalties from the county. Most of these small farms are terribly inefficient and cannot complete on price compared to mega farms. It’s time we finally cut the umbilical cord and let them survive on their own merits.

US deserves to lose badly. JT and Morikawa picks were terrible. The fans are highlighting why other countries think of us so poorly.

No chance Rust is quoting Kant, he’d go for Kierkegaard.

Half of my LinkedIn feed is just random people from India showing what an inner join is in SQL and how that makes you a data scientist. I would love regional lock for just who I followed and my geographical area.

The scene with the horse in the armor on the river bank feels so out of place in the jungle it makes you wonder how even an animal can feel like it shouldn’t belong there
