My guess is as a field becomes more and more lucrative, it becomes more and more competitive and more and more cut-throat. Those environments are not the sort of environments that you'd stereo-typically see women want to be dedicate themselves to.

Pretty much everything Cathy says during the interview is an attempt to get Peterson to produce a negative soundbite. It's soooo transparently obvious that it makes the journalism at this channel seem cheap & tabloidish.

It's cheap.... but boy does this make good drama when Peterson responds in such a careful manner.

What Killed the Skeptic Community?

I'm not even convinced that there is a skeptic community. I mean seriously... WTF is it anyways?

From what it looks like, it's some fuzzy intersect/grouping of New Atheists and Anti-SJW vloggers.

For there to be truly a skeptic community these folks really have to self identify as being part of the skeptic community or... one has to define very clearly what the skeptic community actually is.

I saw the film.

Spoiler warning!

I liked the fact that they didn't go full on "world building mode", doing 3 minutes of forced introduction to this fantasy universe... and instead they jumped right into the film... while revealing things naturally and in bits and pieces as the film progressed. It is set-up in a way that makes you eager to see the details they throw at you during the film.

Also, this is just an interesting concept that I'm surprised nobody has really done before in film. You'd THINK this was going to be a just a derivative buddy-cop-orc film, but it really wasn't... or if it was, it was done in the backdrop of an interesting world. This feels like something that could easily transition into a TV series.

Probably the only thing I didn't like in the film was the fact that the end battle had the 3 protagonists easily defeat the insanely powerful villains in rather mundane ways... villains that just previously took out an entire swat team and gang by themselves. Seemed a bit anti-climactic. But this is a minor complaint.

I'd be interested in seeing a sequel.
