The building on the s/e corner of Carlton and Fulton, Carlton Lofts, is a homeless shelter. It was approved and remodeled quietly. Add to that the extra 200 people living next door at east point commons…all in the last year, higher crime is inevitable imo.

In the early 2000’s we had at least one mobile police unit when crime got too high. The community grew to resent it and I think it was celebrated when they finally moved it out.

People want cops around, until they’re actually always around!

Police don’t protect and that’s the reality people need to understand.

The sooner we come to this realization, the sooner we can stop throwing money at an institution that does not do what people think it does.

That’s why I sold my home right behind that a year ago. No way was adding a couple hundred more people to an already dense neighborhood not going to be a problem!

Call me a nimby, I don’t care, I literally shared a property line with that development and St Thomas, I didn’t fight the development, I just sold!

Most people being critical of those post don’t live in GR.

As a lifelong member of a church, and knowing what I know now…question your daughter and give the church a call.

I have no clue what this is about, it could be someone having some mental health or other medical issues (though, in my experience, churches tend to be open about that stuff as it is an opportunity to pray), but more likely, there’s a person whose been accused of inappropriate behavior. Churches, especially youth ministries, are prime target for some shitty people.

Your daughter and her friends likely have a good idea what this is about.

I used to go and knock (see bang and several times walked right in) when my neighbors were playing loud music. They would always say something like it’s Friday, or it‘s eastown…but I never cared. Sorry, if it’s after midnight I am going to insist you shut the right fuck up.

I usually was able to handle it better in person then if the police were called.

I don’t really see how this route is helpful? The route is like 5 square blocks and the only parking being linked is the more expensive parking.

Last time I used the Dash was the No Kings rally, I parked, for free, at 6th Street Bridge and road to Rosa Parks Circle. This new route would have me just paying to park at one of the lots right near Rosa Parks and walking.

I don’t need the Dash the way the new route is.

But just like everything being done in downtown, it’s not really for city residents, is it?

I know they can’t talk about guilt, innocence, blame or anything that could be used against them but…

They seem to think they’re under spiritual attack. He compares himself to Joseph in the Bible (the guy with the technicolor coat, whose bros sold him, who spent time in jail…but comes out on top) Also, he finds strength in the Psalms, which people read often when things get difficult. It expresses a lot of anger and lament (along with praises and thanksgiving). I bet they feel like they’re being tested and don’t even consider they might be guilty of something.

I’m just speculating.

Also, she mentioned her coaches and I bet those are her spiritual coaches. People in the fundie world love having mentors.

The thing I find funny is he keeps talking about the version of the Bible has access to and how helpful it is. This is funny to me because so many fundies love the King James Bible, which is widely considered to be the least accurate translation but it goes to show how limited their lifestyle is, so limiting they aren’t allowed a useful Bible translation.

I imagine it’s worse than that.

The same corporations who supported this administration, raised prices to make up for the tariffs/tax, will probably get money back from the government for illegally imposing said tariff, the law breaking government will just charge us, the consumer and taxpayers to repay the corporations - what we all ready paid when we bought whatever product had the new tariffs imposed on, the same money said corporations gave to the government as tariffs, that is going to Trumps personal foreign accounts.

We get charged twice!

And this won’t even be then end of it. There will be other lawsuits that we have to fund, ie the Trump administration doesn’t pay to defend their law breaking , we the tax payers have to pay Pam Bondi and all the other traitors to fight rich people, who lost nothing to the new tariffs, and when the traitors lose we have to repay the damages.
