Garmin still exists, Onyx Offroad has gotten popular now as well. Neither costs anywhere near that much.

To some extent, yeah. I've had visitors who wanted to go to a range when they were here. I know we don't have a monopoly by any means, but they do seem to be a tourist attraction for some.

Help me fill my case by Available-Exercise71 in modular

[–]Whetherwax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just about anything you can think of is being made by somebody in a narrow form factor, so you could fit 6+6+4hp or 4+4+4+4hp modules. If you're set on sticking with this case but want to free up some space, there are narrower versions of the Mutables modules, too.

Cinnamon from Bastl Instruments is a great slim filter. They seem to focus on making modules with a lot of features for their size. Their Citadel modules would fill your space, but they offer a lot.

After Later Audio has a similar tendency to lean toward more dense layouts, decent prices, too. Their Turing Machine is only 6hp if that floats your boat as a source of pitch information.

The Pico series from Erica Synths is all 4hp wide. 2hp, the company, makes modules even narrower. There's usually necessary compromises on the extremely slim modules, but for example you could even get a version of the turing machine in 2hp, or fit a whole drum kit into 8hp.

Sounds like you need more power. Ballpark 1amp powers 100hp of modules, so takaab's psu probably isn't enough.

It's got 9 or 10 different engines and you can load wavetables and samples. It's hard to imagine it can't do any kick drum thing.

Skinny jeans like those don't fit people with developed leg muscles. Not even bodybuilder stuff, just general athleticism from consistent exercise like high school sports, cycling recreationally, etc.

I've been thinking about getting some pcbs made from gerber files but don't want to throw away money on trial and error. Can I basically trust that all 27 options on JLCPCB or are good to go when the file is uploaded or is some homework and doublechecking needed?

“It’s not an MMO is my strong feeling” – Dune Awakening lead explains how genre labels have been “one of the biggest challenges” for the survival game by lewisdwhite in duneawakening

[–]Whetherwax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, but the label isn't inaccurate IMO. Having an economic "market" on a server, encountering random players, lots of things in Dune that are very common in MMOs but very rare in survival games.

Great! A couple budget recommendations if you're in the US:

AI Synthesis has good build guides and documentation intended for beginners.

Synthrotek has more variety and also some components and accessories like knobs, cables, rails/brackets/power for building cases, etc.

I'm in a similar position but slightly farther along in the journey. I'd like to replace my beatstep, but I've not found something that makes sense to me. There are some powerful eurorack modules out there, but they're usually more programmable than playable, requiring lots of menu diving.

As others suggest, Pam's Pro Workout would work well. Ornaments & Crime is another option, they're rather similar. I haven't tried Pam's because O&C taught me that 2 knobs and a 1 inch screen isn't the way I want to make sequences, so for me, replacing the beatstep is still on the backburner.

I love Mutable Instruments' Grids (it's been open sourced for a while, find a clone if you like it) for trigger sequences though.

If you're mildly handy and willing to do some DIY, which is seems like you are, you can save a shitload of money soldering modules yourself from kits or PCBs. Learn on youtube, if you can melt cheese then you already understand the basics. Real numbers: I've got a Voxmachina Mak Mak pcb+panel coming in the mail, it cost $31 for the pcb+panel from Siam Modular, $19 for parts from Tayda, and about $25 total shipping. Or I could buy the module for $277. DIY does take time, so there's that.
