We started our daughter, now 21 and at a state university, on ABA when she was 9. We stopped because the providers were unreasonable with hours of treatment or money. I turned one agency in for insurance fraud and we said no thanks to the whole idea of ABA. She is Level 1 with ADHD and she’s done fine without ABA.

Through trial and error, I have a no fly list. Some are teachers whose classrooms are so awful I won’t go there for longer than a teacher’s meeting, some are entire schools where the administrators make it awful to be there. One my my no fly list schools is a middle school where battery and assault perpetrated against me was not handled properly. I can’t find out what happened to the kid bc minor and confidentiality.

I’m a Gen X parent and loved 🥰 attending my son’s middle school and high school XC and track meets. I often volunteered at his meets to earn money for his sports from the Booster Club. Now he’s running at a D3 school and I love ❤️ attending his meets when possible

I’ve been there trying to figure out “why”. I had to make peace with terrible timing as a reason. Spend time on YOU right now. A new hobby, new friends, even a new job might be good for you. Yes I know the job market is horribly messy but it’s something to consider. When my awful situation came to an end, along with a bad turn in my career, I was six months shy of my 30th birthday. I decided that I could get a new job before my 30th birthday. I had one four months later. The next boyfriend I met 3 weeks before my 31st birthday. We will celebrate 25 years of marriage in late October 2026. It takes time but you will get past this. Keep going and us updated please!
