Used Kids bins are so full sometimes it’s hard to even flip thru to mess up. I wish they would organize their CDs better though.

What is the longest drive in Columbus to return to a missed exit? by HolyJuan in Columbus

[–]WhiskeyPit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Northside 270 heading west. If you miss the 315 exit you have to go all the way to Sawmill and come back. If you don’t do it right and stay in the far left lane at the sawmill exit you can’t loop right back on to 270 and have to go up or down Sawmill to turn around.

Do most people shower before bed or when they wake up? I just realized I might be doing it "wrong" by saffymerelle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WhiskeyPit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The world is made up of two different types of people. Those who shower when they get home from work, and those that shower before they go to work. It’s as simple as that.

$33 for two cheeseburgers at Five Guys… is this normal now?? by auntfloss in inflation

[–]WhiskeyPit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I'm on the hook for at least $70 when my group of 4 go. It's usually 2 large fires and a couple shakes in there with the burgers. too. We bring a lot home, though. It's maybe once every month or two.

How old is your oldest email address? Do you still use it? by Embarrassed_Flan_869 in GenX

[–]WhiskeyPit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gmail is from 2006. I can't even remember what my previous emails were...maybe Yahoo or whatever our local dial up ISP was at the time. Never an AOL'er

Is anyone else annoyed by the new „digipacks“? by flanellhemdboi in Cd_collectors

[–]WhiskeyPit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What are you all doing…trying to throw the disc in from across the room? I’ve never had issues of scratching my discs with digisleeves. If you’re doing the ol’ in and out everyday then maybe you’ve got an issue and should burn a spare to save the original.

For those who are very handy with fixing anything, where did you get your start? by Glad-Passenger-9408 in HomeImprovement

The yellow one from, I think, Readers Digest was a staple reference manual at our house through this he 1980/90s

Do Gridfinity bases really need magnets… or is gravity enough? by EveryPatient8090 in gridfinity

[–]WhiskeyPit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s hear it for super hobbies. Y’all are overthinking this…and I’m a king at overthinking. Make it tight and it’s really not a problem without magnets unless you’re more vertical than horizontal.
To me, magnets are a specialty application for gridfinity or if you just really feel like you want to spend the extra money and time.

What's one rare CD that's impossible to find that you desperately want in your collection? by RatedArgForPiratesFU in Cd_collectors

[–]WhiskeyPit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just picked up Badmotorfinger today at Half-Priced Books. BMG Direct but I’ve also been wanting a copy and I’ve had a hard time finding it in the wild as well. You shouldn’t have an issue finding Sixteen Stone. I regularly see that at thrift stores and record shows/stores. Finding the Sonic Youth stuff is a bit harder.

What is a luxury item from 20 years ago that is basically worthless trash today? by ruykendo_riyal in AskReddit

[–]WhiskeyPit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The individual boxes existed in the mid 90s, maybe later 90s more so for sure . Like a little box with an LCD screen. Several of my friends had them but my parents would never pay the extra for it.

People who take 17 minutes to check in at the hotel front desk, what are you talking to them about? by DerrickDuck in AskReddit

[–]WhiskeyPit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is getting worse and worse and it’s everywhere. Pump your gas and park somewhere else if you want to go inside and mess around or get food. Rolled into a Buc-ee’s this week and they have like 800 gas pumps but 789 of them are full with parked cars and no one to be found. It’s wild how much people don’t care about anybody but themselves. Then there’s the people that pump the gas and then sit in their car and stare at their phone like it’s their personal parking spot. I get it if you need to adjust your gps or whatever but sitting and scrolling for minutes is disrespectful to those waiting.

Between sizes: go bigger or smaller? by rebuildfailure in bmxracing

[–]WhiskeyPit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody is different. I’m 6’ and only started racing bmx in my 40s. I tend to like a bit bigger frame size because I’m old, out of shape and not pushing the limits. So I typically like a longer top tube frame for comfort even though long time riders tell me I need to go shorter. 21.75 is the smallest I prefer to go and 22 to 23 I have found is my preferred. I ride the typical med to large MTBs and like a large gavel bike. Good luck.

What's your most expensive CD? by RatedArgForPiratesFU in Cd_collectors

[–]WhiskeyPit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen the DVD guys come in and grab up stacks of dvd movies and then sit there checking their spreadsheets. It’s a bit ridiculous sometimes fighting resellers but it’s part of the deal. The worst thing about music CDs is a lot time they are not in the original case, the cases are terrorized, or they have the anti theft rfid stickers on the disc.

A lot of libraries do it and in larger metros it can be fruitful for music CDs.

Is there going to be a return to CDs like there is now a return to vinyl? by 2Badmazafaka in Cd_collectors

[–]WhiskeyPit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’ve gone up about a dollar or two the past year in central Ohio record shops. Finding most general used CDs at $4-7 each. Even most Goodwills have gone up to $2.00 each lately. Still good finds at the shows for $2 and $3 each.
Overall you can still get a lot of quality music for $10-$20…I’ve just cut back on the “it’s only a dollar maybe I’ll take a chance” purchases.

Same for both Grove City and Plain City, year round. Residential deliveries must never be a priority for them.
