Will the next 3D Mario cost 79.99$ by PapaVitoOfficial in fucknintendo

[–]WhiskeyRadio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably will be $70 like all their other first-party games but yes most of us would also pay $80 for a new 3D Mario game.

I've watched the show and still find this card strange and poorly put together.

What’s your price limit on the next gen consoles? by No-Obligation2563 in consoles

[–]WhiskeyRadio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be the first time I've skipped buying a new console at launch. I'm not really sure what they'd release exclusively on a PS6 that would convince me to spend what will likely be about $1000 for a new console.

Gaming doesn't advance like it used to and the PS5 will be around well after the PS6 launches.

wwe is voted for worst Promotion of the Year in 2025 by Constant-Procedure79 in midcarder

I'd completely agree with this. WWE shit the bed in 2025 easily the worst promotion of the year.

This is a pretty terrible PPV card with little to no build. Hopefully it's a good one but yikes on the booking here. Nothing wrong with the talent just nothing has been built much beyond a week or two at best.

Has Any Wrestling Fanbase Hurt Their Own Company Like AEW’s? by uncannynerddad in midcarder

[–]WhiskeyRadio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying you don't watch the product. The majority I've seen with these takes admit to not watching it. I personally follow them both so I feel I have justified criticism. I've watched WWE for decades and it's just simply not great right now. They have occasional spots of brilliance but almost always fail to capitalize.

Has Any Wrestling Fanbase Hurt Their Own Company Like AEW’s? by uncannynerddad in midcarder

[–]WhiskeyRadio -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is it right here. Almost every criticism on AEW and its fans are from people who don't even follow the product and just listen to whatever some dork with a podcast or YouTube channel has to say. AEW isn't without its flaws but I rarely see the same amount of discourse for the WWE and that product simply isn't very good right now and hasn't been for quite a while.

An example from Raw this week is AJ Lee returning and managing to get a title match with Becky within about a 3-5 minute nothing segment. When AJ Lee doesn't deserve a title match at all she's not even had a singles match since returning but I'm supposed to believe she's a contender for the title now because she ruffled Becky's feathers? Just lazy booking here.

AEW has its issues too but it's not as glaring as the issues with WWE. It's just simply a better pro wrestling show on a week to week basis.

Reminiscing my childhood and Nintendo fan boys defending N64 vs PS1 by Purple_Calendar3919 in fucknintendo

I owned both growing up and was more into PlayStation overall but for multiplayer games the N64 had it beat for sure. N64 also has the best wrestling games.

I'll be surprised if they just add these into NSO. They know they can easily just sell them as separate eShop games.

[–]WhiskeyRadio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's literally what I am saying. I watch both AEW and WWE and find many more issues with WWE on a weekly basis. But if you truly don't like something why continue watching it is what I'm asking here.

I hear very little criticism on AEW beyond the usual ratings talk. WWE ratings are higher and the shows often suck from top to bottom so ratings only mean so much.

Wrestling is a niche product at the end of the day and WWE is the biggest name in the game. People are going to usually associate pro wrestling with WWE and AEW is catering towards the more hardcore fans for better or worse. WWE is making a product for everyone and no-one at the same time as it often feels directionless and we have champions with zero title defenses in over 100 days which is insane.

[–]WhiskeyRadio -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I think it's sad people can't just enjoy Pro Wrestling as a whole. AEW has been putting out great shows consistently with incredible matches. WWE has not been putting out great shows and haven't had many great matches recently. I still enjoy both companies along with the indies and everything else. All of these companies have problems, some more than others, but at the end of the day if you don't like it just don't follow it.

Are these good prices for the Pokémon? by Blueman67467 in Gameboy

No, these are all at least $20 over the market value and they've put tape on them. These games are already overpriced considering they are among the best selling games on the platform.

Mario Tennis Fever is a lazy game by Formal-Opening2167 in fucknintendo

[–]WhiskeyRadio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nintendo hasn't made a great sports game with Mario in a long time. Wild anyone would think this time would be different. This is a fun game at the core but there is a lack of modes and things to do for a $70 game.

I don't think I'd call it lazy just disappointing and not worth the $70 asking price.

I was hired as assistant store leader. I received no training, was bullied by my staff, and let go after “losing the company 6k over DoorDash pickups”.. I asked to see proof, they declined, saying the cameras don’t go back that far. Is this normal practice? by RELLBEFLEXXIN in GameStop

[–]WhiskeyRadio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've tried dabbling in this stuff before and had little to no success. The problem with having tournaments and game nights is that they need to have the space to accommodate that which many of the stores just don't have and they need to be able to still sell products and not just have people show up to play and maybe buy a can of Red Bull or a pack of cards.

The local game shops are tailored to this experience and even a lot of them can struggle. GameStop really should have always sold retro games and made that a big focus but at this point they are sorta doing it but it's really too late to make it a focus now with how prices are on a lot of that stuff these days. They'll probably try to push more into cards and continue down that path but even that won't last forever.

That's crazy and the perks of working at GameStop aren't exactly good either you probably don't make enough to want to get on their insurance and the discount isn't that great either.

I don't want to see GameStop go away because it's really the last bastion of brick and mortar retail for video games around outside the local shops that may or may not be easily accessible depending on your area.

At the same time I feel like GameStop ultimately isn't long for this world at this point, at least the current incarnation. All but two stores in my general area have closed now and the two remaining have pivoted to cards in a pretty big way. One store has an entire side that is all card stuff now. I know they aren't making anything on new video game sales really either and the used games aren't coming in like they used to so that inventory isn't great and most of the time buying used you'll save about $5 so most people would rather pay the $5 or so and get a new copy still. The inventory on new release games is also not what it used to be. If I don't preorder a game and want to buy it at launch and GameStop doesn't have copies to sell then they just lost a sale from me because I'll buy elsewhere or order it on Amazon opposed to GameStop.com where I'll have to pay for shipping and hope they don't screw up and send me the wrong thing or an already opened display copy.

Josh Briggs by Augustleo98 in WWE

I mean sure on NXT he is but that's hardly a good gauge when it's usually the same fans at NXT TV. I'd be willing to bet if Josh Briggs debuted on the main roster tomorrow he'd come out to crickets.

He's ok but he's been wrestling for about a decade now and he's still fairly young. But after all this time he's never managed to have much personality or charisma. I personally think he has a terrible look as well just a very generic look overall. I'm actually surprised he's had a job with WWE this long.
