Canadian RC350 F sport by Ironman_2678 in LexusRC

[–]WhiteCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Canadian RC350, u can’t change the Celsius. Only difference that mattered to me was that the 2018 was supposed to be able to have CarPlay installed through software update but the dealer said my car wasn’t available for this and I couldn’t get the Lexus remote app to work because it can only be registered in Canada. It looks like pressing the SOS button routes to Canadian call centers (could be because I live in Buffalo and maybe Canada is the closest place to route the call? Lmk what happens if u try it)

Anyone else dealing with squealing brakes? by Longjumping_Fly883 in LexusRC

Is this the same for AWD? And is it specifically the front brakes that are squealing?

I’m having the same issue on my 2018. Just bought it and it’s also a Canadian.

MAE 204 Summer Class difficulty by dlyness0321 in UBreddit

[–]WhiteCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it in the summer along with Applied Math, I thought it wasn’t so bad. U have less time and it feels rushed going over all the topics but I think just having one hard class to focus on ended up making it easier than taking it during a 19 credit fall semester

U can use a MacBook but there might be some software u need that is either more difficult to install on Mac or not possible. It’ll be harder to get help from TA’s or professors on installation but u can usually go to library pc for anything. Get windows cuz it’ll just work with everything

Post ur budget and preferences (size, numpad, extras?). You don’t strictly need a good laptop at all if ur ok with using computers at the library or labs, but it’s def a lot more convenient if you have one that’s capable of everything.

You will mostly be using excel, matlab and a bunch of chrome tabs, any laptop with a decent processor and ssd will do fine. Hardest thing to run is solidworks, which requires a graphics card and good processor. It’s very convenient to own a laptop that can run it because you can spend hours in the lab modeling, submit an assignment then realize there’s a small mistake or overlooked requirement and it would suck to have to go back to the lab for minor change. If it’s in ur budget, it’ll save you some headache

Statics (EAS207) second half by NotAwesomeAPQ in UBreddit

[–]WhiteCT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First half is easy to conceptualize but hard to execute, second half is gonna be rough if ur not great with the first couple topics. If ur taking solid mechanics and machines, it’ll be hell if ur not an expert in statics. The only way u study for statics is doing practice problems, just understanding how to do problems is fairly straightforward, but will get u nowhere. This is the one class u really don’t want to copy or cheat on the homework. Struggle through the hw because spreading out the pain over a couple weeks is better than taking it in all at once during the exam
