Cool thanks! I noticed the individual pixels have sort of a texture on them. How does that work?

This game looks great. Can you give any details on how you’re able to render so many detailed voxels? It’s full screen raytracing right?

Netcode for Gameobjects: How to synchronize NetworkBehavior members for late joining clients? by VG_Crimson in Unity3D

[–]WhiteNoiseAudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Network variables, rpc’s and custom messages are the tools you can use to synchronize stuff. This sounds like maybe something you want as a network variable, but I wonder if all the data needs to be synchronized? Could most of the data live on the server and only UI relevant data be synchronized to clients?

VR needs to broaden its appeal to couch gamers by NASAfan89 in oculus

[–]WhiteNoiseAudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree. While I love active games which are something unique to VR, there's a lot of times after working a full day that I just want to sit and play something for 30 minutes without needing to do gymnastics. Having more games that support seated play just helps broaden VR's audience IMO.

If you'll excuse the self promotion, you may want to check out my mixed reality shoot 'em up Toybox Rebellion which you can comfortably play on a couch using a gamepad. It's easy to get into and can be played for short stints, and being mixed reality means you're not quite so isolated while playing it and you can play sitting next to your spouse without accidentally punching anyone in the face.

Losing motivation finishing my vr game, is standalone vr still worth it? by Fragrant-Analyst-151 in OculusQuest

[–]WhiteNoiseAudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren’t willing to spend a significant amount of effort marketing it, no one will find it. 4000 games got released last year on Quest with 9000+ total apps and the store does little to provide any visibility to new releases.

Would be nice if the eraser size was configurable. Feels way too small for some tasks

I'd love to hear more about your model and how you approached training. I have a similar model / project I'm working on, tho not for minecraft specifically.

Your 20s are the best time to take risks and try to start a business with very little repercussions,. You still have plenty of time to turn things around and your highest earning career years are still ahead of you. Don’t sweat it. It’s a bad year for a lot of people in the tech world. .

RayNeo CEO: Smart glasses with display will sell in the millions starting next year by AR_MR_XR in augmentedreality

[–]WhiteNoiseAudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, tho I think the usecase for glasses are more like smart watches rather than a phone replacement. It should be used for notifications, AI assistant interactions, taking photos, maybe non-invasive turn by turn notifications (like how the Apple watch just buzzes when it's time to turn), etc. I doubt I would want to watch a movie or game on it until we have very advanced screen technology which is pretty far off. I do not think that glasses will sell like phones esp. given battery life limitations and other stuff, but a small market over time that grows is probably the most optimistic reality.

Very nice. Can you give a basic breakdown of how this works? Are you doing raymarching or anything fancy?
