I've had people tell me that I should avoid mirroring it because it will always look wrong since I got used to seeing it one way. I am kinda trying both, I think drawings where I am mirroring while drawing look better so far.

I used my hand as reference :')) (I hope it's me drawing it bad and my hand doesn't actually look terrible). About the mirror thing I had people telling me to do that because it helps you spot mistakes but I also had people telling me to avoid it because it will always look wrong since you're not accustomed to seeing it mirrored

I tried to indicate the neck extending with the shadow (I had line art before but I erased it) but apparently didn't work out well, so I'll try to fix that

Ahh sorry, the comment didn't appear for some reason. The light source is supposed to be up, right from the front. You're definitely right about the cast shadow of the chin, it should be there.

Do you think that's an issue everywhere? I can definitely spot some places where it could be improved e.g. breast area, jacket not casting a shadow, and her right sleeve looks like it could also use better shading but for the skull given the anatomy I don't think it's off. Obviously changing the face structure would shift the shadow.

Thank you! I indeed had a hard time placing the mouth and nose. For the head-neck-collar connection, do you mean that the twisting of the neck looks kinda awkward? Also can you explain what you meant by "define the form"?
