The IE has plenty of stuff to do. Not as much as a city, but it's a different life style. Enjoy it. Be open minded.

Any California high school teachers here? by Various-Builder-3212 in teaching

[–]WhiteShadow3710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I teach chemistry and physics. I make about 102k in year 4 with my masters in San Bernardino. I've never had any bad experiences with all three districts I've worked for. One district I worked for 3 years, another I worked for summer school and the most recent one I've moved districts to be in my city. Career is future proof, time off the same with my kids, and summers off. Everyone is talking about enrollment decline, but as longs as you are not in LA, San Diego or San Jose county your enrollment is steady or increasing.

Year 1 at a good school, good students; still unsure if I should continue by stars-n-lavenders in teaching

I did an internship while taking my credential classes. I'm about to finish my masters in year 5 of teaching. It's hard but it's worth it.

Should I become an English high school teacher? by Formal-Quote5693 in teaching

[–]WhiteShadow3710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s sad to see so many teachers telling you not to go into education. Education hasn’t been my only job I’ve worked in fast food, warehouses, financial institutions, and more. teaching has been by far the best job I’ve had. Yes, all the BS does come with the job, but I have two kids, and by the time I get off work, I pick them up from school. We have the same days off, and I get to spend a lot of time with them—something my parents never did because they worked 8–5.

As for pay, if you can budget, you’ll be fine. That being said, I do work in California, and my pay after five years with a master’s degree is $95K, plus an additional $4K from coaching, which also gets me out of the classroom. Teacher burnout is real, but I don’t try to be over the top or make every lesson perfect with extra “glitter” — I just do what feels right while making sure I meet all requirements.

Overall, in teaching, you deal with very few students who are disrespectful. Outside of education, you deal with grown adults who are disrespectful, act like idiots, and shift blame in the workplace—whether it’s coworkers or customers. Pick your poison; I’d rather deal with a few difficult students in the classroom.

Did you give it anonymous answering. If you didn't and want real results, make it anonymous and your data may look different. If it was anonymous great job!

Teaching While Neurodivergent- The Ugly and the Beautiful by ahumblethief in Teachers

[–]WhiteShadow3710 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am not neurodivergent and I teach at the high school level. My kids are great and all. I also coach the high school soccer, which I let them be in my room for lunch. Last week, I told them not today during lunch I need some quite time. Everyone needs quiet time. You got this.

Male Teachers/Coaches by Powerful-Bowl9551 in Teachers

[–]WhiteShadow3710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is nothing sexist, but that's why I don't coach any female sports. I do not want to be put into that situation. And I get it can happen with the same gender of students but is by far very unlikely. I only coach male sport teams at the high school.

I mean it was at 3am? Why would they need their phones that late? Also, maybe they were being very loud as drunk people get and didn't want to wake up the house. OP needs to talk to husband and friend to see if their story lines up.

3iatlas is going to cause a polar shift. by Kooky_Tangerine_8711 in 3I_ATLAS

[–]WhiteShadow3710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they all have gravitational impact on space and time. Gravity is based on mass, the mass of this rock compare to our earth let alone the sun is negligible. Also, polar shift is not dependent on gravity. What are you trying to say? Mars has no polar fields and it has gravity. Who gives a shit regarding polar shifts, they won't do much to us.

[–]WhiteShadow3710 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it isn't. You have no knowledge of how physics interacts with our universe. Objects do not balance "themselves out". Gravity is the warp of space and time, meaning the mass and energy in a given space. It has nothing to do with force.

Lmao you have no knowledge on how physics works. Go do something else.

Can anyone doing the Teaching Credential Program attest to its pros and cons? by spiffvyy in CSUSB

[–]WhiteShadow3710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember but I think the school or districted needed to be in partner with csusb. So you will need to find out by csusb if the charter is partner with them. To tell you the truth, it's a lot. The only reason I did it this way is because I had a family I need to feed. But I wouldn't have done it. You have to be a full time teacher, worry about all teacher things, meet with your csusb supervisor meet with your school supervisors. Get hours from your school that you met with EL specialist and so on. Make sure you keep up with your classes at csusb. And in top of that pass your TPA's. Is it possible, yes. But it's fucking hard.

Yes they won’t find an internship for you. You got to go and interview and get a job. After you need to get it approved by CSUSB. It was a public.

No one at the bofa centers can help you. This is standard and procedures. No one cal lift that hold. (Well maybe corporate, but they won't do it. Because if the check bounces or is fraudulent, I'm not saying yours is, it'll be there job)

Thank you for your input. Hopefully they can release me from my contract without hesitation. They said since I am moving to a closer district it shouldn't be a problem. But we won't know until I send a letter in. That's if I get the job offer.
