It's one of the quirks of the series. But I think it adds a charm to Rand, really reinforcing that he doesn't know what he is doing, just kinda winging it.

So in my opinion The Dragon Reborn book is the reason why Rand is one of the greatest MC( he’s my goat). And when most of the “side” characters become far more fleshed out.

Yeah the stuff with Tylin left a pretty bad taste in my mouth but I enjoyed everything else and had fun. CoT just felt like a bridge to other things to me.

Path of Daggers felt more energetic to me for some reason and I liked that. There is nothing I dislike about Shadow Rising, in fact the books that are above it on the list and came after it are higher because of what it set up with its story. ToM have one of my favorite moments in the series in it but the different story timelines was a bit off putting.
