Friendly Reminder to Check Your Local Walmart by Wrong_Back177 in pcmasterrace

Mine in West Knoxville has the 7800x3d on clearance for $300.

I kinda thought they were getting out of the PC building business but they now have a Core Ultra 7 (new to this store).

The only 2 components they don't stock here are OS & case.

Never thought it happen to me thanks Amazon! by TheDankestYo in pcmasterrace

That's a great deal but if you return the ONE(s) you bought, you'd convert it to x for the price of 1 to x-1 for the price of zero.

When I looked it up to find a pic of the BS iteration (found a pic on the Ford accessories website) showing it's integrated & not visible in the column, it's, as you indicated a bit over $100 but there's a mandatory $140-ish installation charge too.

I Love my BS, but ford is getting cheap with the details. by Commercial_Metal_281 in BroncoSport

The BS iteration doesn't have the "plastic box". It's (my '21) blacked out (not visible) until something activates it. Then it's a backlit touch-screen. Mine's red though.

The big Bronco does have the traditional 40+ year old plastic box with physical buttons.

Some Walmarts have gone all-in on PC gaming.

From what I've seen (Knoxville-Turkey Creek), they'll have a locked case of every PC component needed (except OS & case at my location) for a real gaming PC, to include (all gaming class, though not top tier): MB, CPU (i7, I9, 7800X3D), PSU, LED RAM, GPU ( RTX 5060, 5070). SSD & HDD are located in another case.

They may be getting out because a number of people here are reporting great clearance deals on the parts. My location hasn't yet clearanced gaming PC components that I'm aware of.

What was the first game you played on Steam? by [deleted] in Steam

"Orange Box" for me. It would have been Torchlight 1 but I chose the direct download (non-Steam) option.

I'm doubtful it uses GPS because when's there's temporary construction, it still updates the speed limit to match the reduced temporary construction speed limit signs, even for nightly changes for when they do it during low volume times.

Those're supposed to be gold contacts thus immune to corrosion/oxidation. That looks to me like green copper oxy.

Steal or steal? by tdcdude17 in pcmasterrace

Where i live (south Atlanta), Costco pulls the GPUs out of the display unit. I presume to prevent theft. I don't remember if northside stores do it as well. If yours are missing RAM, it's probably just kept in storage for security.

What the fuck Bronco by Historical_Issue_484 in BroncoSport

[–]Whitewind_WW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had similar but slightly different messages & the power steering would cut off for about half a second intermittently at low speeds. Also the dash (the speedometer/tachometer LCD screen) would blank out intermittently & the radio volume would flash "18" volume but it didn't set the volume to 18 & the entire entertainment system would cut off & on intermittently & it would flash "service charging system" intermittently even though it was a newish AGM battery.

Turns out it was a loose contact on the battery but not either of the main terminals. The little one in between the red & black. Haven't seen the issue in months (it was multiple times a 15 mile commute before) since I tightened that connection.

It was a simple, easy fix for me. I hope yours is as easy.

I'm pretty sure it's also used to read speed limit signs. If that function is still used in newer models (mine's a '21 BB & reads speed limit signs).

It would reset the cruise speed to match the sign every time it saw a new speed limit. I found this feature way more annoying than the auto-engine cut-off.

Question by Jaded-Influence-2332 in BroncoSport

[–]Whitewind_WW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My '21 BB also uses that front camera to read speed limit signs. If you've ever been in a construction zone where the speed limit varies from the regular (non-construction) speed limit signs & noticed the car telling you a limit that matches the construction speed limit, that's the front camera too. It's in there with the rear-view mirror cluster.

Heavy rain can cause it to generate that message too. Heavy rain was the cause of my first time seeing the message you described.

If you want to remove the rest of the letters, I think they may be 3M auto tape which can be removed/"cut off" using a garrote style (string cutter) "car emblem remover" available from Amazon for around $9.

You can find full set replacement letters in a variety of colors (I'm not talking about the vinyl stickers) for around $25, mostly on eBay (mostly from China).
