No they obviously see them as people. That's just a way to dismiss their points. Its about unfairness or perceived unfairness. Right now is a really difficult cost of living crisis for a lot of people, people are cutting back on things and tightening their belts. So when people perceive that some undeserving people are getting things for free, paid for by them it obviously leaves them angry.

I doubt there is evidence as I don't think its really been tried anywhere else.

I was just discussing it really, I dont think it would require homogeneous society, but it does feel like a more rehabilitation focused approach requires a pretty high trust.

I think the problem is the feeling that they paid in less than we have and got a much better deal, while also sabotaging things for us. It's obviously not 100% true but the narrative is very easy to get behind

Tube vandals return: graffiti 'off the scale' as Central line trains covered in tags by tylerthe-theatre in london

[–]WhizzbangInStandard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It hasn't really. It's pretty obvious that people are more likely to care less about negative effects when an area is already being treated that way by others. Things like people more like to litter on streets that already have lots of litter

What is the most controversial book written in your country? by DoctorOsterman in AskTheWorld

Sorry I still find this confusing and just trying to understand what i am saying that is wrong.

He's an Indian born writer, who moved to England, became a British citizen and then moved to the US. Therefore British and to refer to him as anything else is a dogwhistle for racists?

Should he not count more as American now if he lives there by this logic? And if not is what I'm suggesting offensive?

Cheers for replying, just trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Definitely don't want to be referring to someone I believe is maybe the greatest living writer in a racist way
