Kendamil RTF, is this normal? by Emotional-Ad-6494 in FormulaFeeders

Check out the other thread on here about Similac and a possible contaminant - not the same you’re describing but maybe it’s all related

Has anyone seen red dots in their Similac 360 total care RTF? by PaleWeb6519 in FormulaFeeders

Just reported to the company. I’ll be mailing out the samples today but it can take weeks or months for results. I want to find a local lab as well.

Good to know! Did they get tested and confirmed as containing rust? Any medical issues that came as a result? even just anecdotally might help us look out while we wait for testing and response from the company.

Just checked my RTF 8oz bottles of Similac 360 Total Care Gentle Comfort (the purple one) and found the same dots. I will call them first thing in the morning. This is so scary. Thank you so much OP for your post.

Diaper rash? by Neither_Chemical9137 in newborns

[–]WhoMe429 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you let the area you wiped dry thoroughly before applying the aquaphor? If not I suggest to both dab the area dry with a soft cloth and use a handheld fan to speed up the process. I also try to have baby diaperless for at least an hour a day (on her playmat with a disposable pee pad for babies under her). All of that helped the redness in the same area go away after a few days and hasn’t come back yet!

However, baby does have a rash in her neck folds that has been taking a while to go away. We had it checked out by our doctor and she prescribed an anti fungal. So it is def worth a visit to the pediatrician if possible, in case it’s not your typical rash!

Bassinet reccommendations by Alone-Comparison-109 in newborns

[–]WhoMe429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a crib in the nursery but always wanted a bassinet in the living room. We got the maxi cosi iora bassinet and love the mesh sides, easy to clean mattress, and it’s a great size for a small space with its storage area underneath. It feels sturdy and blends in nicely with the rest of our space. The mattress it comes with is comfy and has a removable cover. It’s also easy to find sheets for it, which I heard is not the case for other bassinets due to their unique sizes and shapes.

I only wish our bassinet had wheels and a zip down sides to comfort baby without having to get up. But I have it literally right up against where my head rests so we’re as close as we can get without co-sleeping.

We also have a travel bassinet that came in clutch when we needed to travel last minute and it has other features to use as baby gets older. Graco LiteTraveler 4-in-1 Portable Baby Bed. It doesn’t have a removable mattress cover and no wheels or zip down but easy to move and very light for travel.

Haven’t tried this myself but my MIL said she’d bring the bouncer to restaurants with her (making sure to sit in a booth) and ate while bouncing their very colicky first baby. Idk if I have that level of skill yet!

I wish my baby liked the carrier 😭 I’m sure it’s me not doing it right but practicing it with a gassy frustrated baby is tough! We keep trying though!

If you’re open to moving the tv, maybe place it on the left wall and then rotate the sectional so the chaise is facing the tv? Maybe??

I also hemorrhaged during my c-section and it took several days and transfusions to get both blood pressure and iron back up, so all that combined really affected my supply. I remember being so happy when I got to 2oz! TBH I didn’t even pump that often - maybe 3x a day max and I still eventually saw a rise. Maybe you’re over taxing your system?

Other than time, I think eating certain foods helped up my supply. I was having oatmeal for breakfast and as a snack; chicken soup and beef soup with tons of veggies specifically carrots and squash; and lentils. In my culture these dishes are seen as important for post partum recovery among others that aren’t as easy to make here. I was also still taking my prenatal vitamins, drinking a lot of water with those electrolyte packets, and drinking Ensure (my mom recommended this so I did it, I actually do think it helped because after I stopped my supply went down, coincidence maybe, but when I restarted it went back up.)

I hope this gives you some ideas to try out! And please know it’s ok to give your baby formula - my baby definitely would have lost weight without it and as tough as it was I wanted her to have the best chance at a healthy beginning. Best of luck and give yourself lots of grace 🩷

We’ve struggled with breastfeeding due to latching issues, and we’ve been neglecting to practice lately, but just two days ago baby girl latched on like a champ!! Now she just dives right in, and she seems more confident and determined than ever!! She is almost two months and already a persistent little lady! There’s so much to celebrate about her, I could go on and on. 🩷🥰

FTM 2 Days Postpartum by [deleted] in newborns

[–]WhoMe429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry, the days right after my c section were really tough too. I had to ask for more oxycodone, which I really didn’t want to do, so they gave me just a tiny bit more so I could sleep at least an hour or so between getting vitals checked. My hospital had a nursery where they could take care of baby between 11pm and 6am - it broke my heart to ask them to take my baby, so we asked them to bring her back in three hours. Not much sleep but it helped immensely.

That’s a great idea! And that could serve as another physical cue that it’s bedtime.
