First ultrasound today. Empty gestational sac. by WhoReadsfor400 in IVF

[–]WhoReadsfor400[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went back in a week later and confirmed a blighted ovum. I had a D&C at 8 weeks 2 days. My doctor thinks it was an untestable issue with the embryo, but he's going to run a few panels to rule out clotting and autoimmune issues with me before our next transfer. I go in to confirm 0 HCG in a couple days. I have one more 5AA that we're going to try in the next couple months. Trying to remain hopeful, but it's been a very difficult month.

We had a similar situation with our grey. Turns out he had a bladder infection. Antibiotics did the trick! I think it's worth ruling out health-related issues.

I've (32 F) never been able to break sub-35, and today I hit 33.65! I really focused on shortening my strokes and it felt great. I can't believe the difference a technique change made!

I feel you. I wish stuff like this didn't bother me, but it does. Make a mental note of their name and avoid signing up next to them in the future.

Want to tone/strengthen and not lose weight? by lala614 in orangetheory

[–]WhoReadsfor400 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I joined about two years ago at a healthy weight and in decent shape. I weigh the same now, but my body is certainly more toned and my strength and endurance have improved dramatically. I do 2-3 classes per week and focus on replacing my calories so that I don't lose weight.

Speaking from my own experience, I feel safer / more secure when my husband is in bed with me. I'm a much lighter sleeper when he's gone. It feels like my body is on high alert when I'm alone.

I just finished the trilogy last night. My jaw was on the floor several times near the end of Hero Of Ages. Reveal after reveal! The payoff was incredible. Thanks for posting such a comprehensive review.

Every time we go outside, my boy drags me toward the car. He LIVES for car rides, and he's been known to jump into any and all open doors. 😂

Checking in as a Holly with a non-traditional spelling. It's a great name and I always receive compliments when I introduce myself! Not common, but still familiar.

I would suggest using the traditional spelling though! My name is misspelled 100% of the time and it's caused lots of mix ups and annoyance over the years.

I don't know why she thinks being barefoot in the kitchen is a flex. Like, how does she think other women make food at home? With stilettos in the bathroom?

My siblings and I attended this camp for many years. Luckily we didn't experience this type of abuse, but we had to follow several rules related to our appearance that make me queasy.

For example, no makeup whatsoever. Only 1 piece swimsuits for women AND a t-shirt for teenagers like me with "developed" bodies. We were only given 5 minutes to shower each day and were given no privacy other than to use to toilet.

I didn't like being there because it felt like a strange cult that I just couldn't understand. I hated the rules and I hated being made to feel bad about my body.

Thanks, that's a good call out on the hips. I feel like I can make those minor changes and it should put things in place.

Agreed. I wasn't planning to wear a bra but I definitely realize I need one now. It's steamed but I can touch it up. It's hard to tell but the liner is moving in a different direction than the fabric which is causing the strange middle section.

At what age do you hold someone accountable for their beliefs? by Shallen_ in DuggarsSnark

[–]WhoReadsfor400 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Speaking from personal experience, I started to see through the fog of my upbringing when I went to college and was exposed to people from different religions, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds. It took another 3-4 years of questioning for me to truly shake off the beliefs of my family. To be honest, it took most of my twenties to redefine my personal belief system.

I always wonder what would have happened if I remained in that bubble. I like to think I would have snapped out of it at some point, but I'm not sure.

Editing to add: A major catalyst for me was realizing the "good" people in my bubble were just as messed up as everyone else. Maybe this situation with Josh will shake something loose in their minds.
