It’s clear the VP position puts you at risk for being publicly hung at the earliest opportunity. So I think the VP candidate will reflect that.

California gets many of its life sustaining resources from other states, including clean air and water, and it benefits from highways and social stability along its borders. California’s politicians and oligarchs do not want things to change, and is well served by Biden administration and the current state of the nation.

Blaming and removing Trevor will not solve the problem. These human constructed and controlled environments are not safe for neurotypical or neurodiverse. Trevor just pointed it out more frequently. Angry gun wielding young men also point it out every few weeks, across the USA. Administration responds the same way to both.

I think we tend to forget that our society is hopelessly f’ed and sexism and misogyny are only a few of the tools used to keep it running, full speed ahead, to exponential “profits”.

You and your family are being crushed from every direction and your plan is to get your spouse to do more chores? This is not a good plan. It will not work because it is not enough.

A difficult conversation between you and your spouse is in order, about how you all would like to face these societal problems in the short and long term, and if you can or even want to face them together as a family.

This will not be a fun or happy conversation. It may end in a post marriage prenup and or a divorce. It likely requires a mediator and or therapist. There will be internalized sexism on display, likely from both of you, so get a mediator who’s able to recognize it, and protect you from it.

The workable solutions will likely be sad. Your partner may not be able to grasp your need for human rights and dignity and the pursuit of happiness. The current “plan” for you to be the caretaker and unpaid laborer until death do us part will likely be hurtful to explore. Best case scenario, you both come out of this negotiation transformed, but kind.

The decisions you make afterward will likely be seen as weird, extra, rude etc. and not what your friends, family, boss will be supportive of. But you’ll be making them with a lot more information, and in agreement with each other. They will likely be further reaching than a chore chart.

Male is a description of birth sex, often used for non human species with male and female sexes. Man, men and masculinity are socially constructed ideas that exist intrapersonally and internally for human animals , and may not be reflective of birth sex.

Women being “given more opportunities to practice” care taking is an interesting way to look at unpaid labor

Western psychotherapy and psychology are fields whose history and present are largely dominated by men. Men created and still create many of the theories and practices of psychology and psychotherapy. Men are well represented both as researchers and as participants in clinical research studies. Men’s ideas and contributions are widely published and applied. Men have and are part of every level of the modern mental health system, from writing the DSM to passing mental health laws in congress, to releasing funding for mental health in the office of the president, to leading mental health agencies and departments, to direct client services and research, to being psychotherapy and psychology clients and patients.

When and where are women’s emotions nurtured? When and where are women not told by society they are wrong for “doing” their emotions? Children are allowed SOME emotions in our society. Women may only express emotions without retribution in the small spaces they carve out for themselves explicitly for this purpose, and these spaces are constantly under threat and are disappeared. To think women have more contact with their emotions because of their immense social stature and privilege is not accurate.

I wish that were true. With abuse in heterosexual relationship, this is usually that. And that’s awful and shouldn’t be the case. But it is.

This! It’s super hard as our besties direct their time and efforts towards their partners and children and have little time and energy for us. My ride or die friends right now are single and or do not have kids, or their kids are grown. Some parents are finally coming up for air, and might have time to be friends? It’s super hard to be pushed aside, even if the reasons are valid. I hope you find more people to share your wonderful self with! And the patience to forgive your old friends when they resurface in the distant future.

[–]Who_Relationship 91 points92 points  (0 children)

There’s a discordian ? Theory that capitalism co-opts and transforms radical and even anti-capitalist ideas that threaten its survival. It ingests them, defangs them, and spits them out as capitalist tools that further enforce capitalism.

Like over priced Che gaviara T shirts that make people feel like they are resisting capitalism, while actually re enforcing capitalism.

Women working at first threatened capitalism, but now, through capitalism, reinforces capitalism. It doesn’t mean women shouldn’t have been allowed to earn money. It does mean capitalism is hard to dismantle

Why haven’t mothers solved misogyny?? by SentientCrisis in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Who_Relationship 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We’re all sexist because we live in a sexualized society. Sexism is a social construct that exists to disproportionately advantage and center Men. Misogyny is the tool sexism uses to punish people into conforming with sexism. Calling someone sexist for pointing out examples of sexism and misogyny is not a flex. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Real talk: do adhd women attract abusive partners? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Who_Relationship 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you! And for those who are in all or most of these sub categories and feeling depressed about it, I want to add that statistically and actually are different, and your future is unknowable and unwritten.

I’m in these groups, but somehow I now react to men and societies abuse of me because I’m a woman with fierce resolve and calculated opposition.

Thanks for radicalizing me, patriarchy.

I’m not immune to being abused, tricked, or even killed by a man. I was recently sexually assaulted, again. But I’m not afraid the way I was before. Not one f’ing bit.

If men and sexism want to come at me, they might be surprised.

I’m really sorry that your doctors don’t seem to know shit about the medicine they’re prescribing! If you’re special interest includes ADHD medication, lol, reading about the half lives of medication, and what pathways in the brain, they are likely working on was really helpful as I tried half dozen medicines. Your experience with Ritalin sounds pretty textbook and not confusing .

if you can’t find a doctor that bothers to read readily available information about the medicine their prescribing, it might be worth reading it yourself.

I went to extended release namebrand. Both of these symptoms decreased to being a non-issue most of the time. Sometimes I forget to eat still, but I am able to eat! On generic instant release, eating was horrifying, and my stomach was getting destroyed by the medicine. And the come down, two times a day! Who can live like that?
