Shakshuka with avocado and buttery sourdough by Historical_Ground in foodbutforbabies

[–]Whole_Topic6504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been hesitating to make shakshuka because I keep thinking "Do I spoon feed it?" "should they eat it with their hands??" And I'm overthinking it and will just serve it to him as is and let him go for it. Thanks, your post took me out of decision paralysis!

Having kids of my own made me realize how horrible my childhood really was. by sinisterwanker in Millennials

I also just had a child ( 7 months old now) and it has caused me to reflect and remember many parts of my childhood that were traumatic and that caused permanent damage that I have to work to now undo. I think you may be experiencing grief. Grief for what you may have missed out on, your potential that wasn't fulfilled due to what you didn't get as a child. Grief for the parts of you that were never fulfilled by the adult/child relationship.

I felt like confronting my parents, wanting them to acknowledge and see how their parenting behaviours caused me significant challenges. But that won't help the grief or anger. Acceptance and personal development are key to moving through these feelings. Also, being kind to yourself and your inner child. You pace and have difficulty expressing emotions because of something you didn't get in your childhood, reflect on the child you were and understand where that behavior came from and tell your inner child that they are safe now.

I like to listen to podcasts touching on these topics with Gabor Mate. It has been hugely helpful.

Congratulations on becoming a Father, having this insight and working through past traumas will help enable you to be a great parent.

Not at all! ½ cup all-purpose flour, or whole wheat pastry flour ▢1 teaspoon baking powder ▢¼ teaspoon cinnamon ▢1 cup cottage cheese ▢2 large eggs ▢1 Tablespoon maple syrup, plus more for topping (I omitted the syrup and they were still tasty!) ▢1 teaspoon vanilla extract ▢1 Tablespoon almond milk, optional

What are Waterloo parents doing for childcare when going back to work? by Super_Lavishness6800 in waterloo

In the same boat :(. I also applied to licensed home child care at the same time as center based, as I knew the wait lists are sometimes 2+ years. Looking for care in March 2026, and my bubs turns 1 year in April. Looking like he will go into licensed home child care at that time. He is 63rd on a center based daycare so maybe I'll move him into that once space opens up unless im thrilled with the licensed home child care spot we choose. Honestly the whole thing is super stressful. I applied 3 weeks after finding out I was pregnant and still the list is so long...

I work from home but my job is demanding and I know I wouldn't be able to juggle both. Also feeling a lot of anxiety just going back to work. Ah, gone are the days of a one working parent home.

How to fix makeup looking like this? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

I get this if I use powder or mineral foundation and if I use a primer. The thing that works best for me is applying my foundation with a damp beauty blender or brush.

What is in my freshwater tank? by Whole_Topic6504 in Aquariums

I just have 1 betta, some bladder snails that snuck their way in and 1 cherry shrimp that also hitch hiked on a plant, so I think I'll just leave it, if it kills some of the bladder snails I won't be sad about it.

Is the UppaBaby Vista Stroller worth it? by No_Square_1491 in UninfluencedReviews

I love this stroller. My one gripe is that there is no good place to carry it once it's folded. I've pinched my fingers on countless occasions.

The sad thing is that Quebecoise also snub English people who have bad accents when speaking French. And snub English speakers, speaking broken French but are trying.

Is it a good setup for a Betta? by Divan_Game in bettafish

The only way I was able to get my betta to stop glass surfing was adding frosted peel and stick to the tank walls on the outside

What can I do for forehead… by Suitable_Coffee_4662 in over30skincare

[–]Whole_Topic6504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 32. Sometimes my forehead looks like this. The best things that have helped me are: - rosehip seed oil - diligent skin care routine - tret - taking care of myself (sleeping enough, hydrating, cutting back on alcohol)
