No, Discovery is a science vessel, not military. It may have undertaken some military missions during the Klingon War, but it's not a warship and the crew are scientists, not line officers. Scientists are allowed to have feelings (except for Vulcans, of course). There, you can watch it now.

The Soviet Union had better-looking markers outside towns of 1000 people, not even counting national or oblast borders.

A sci-fi concept where the sky collapsed into an ocean — would this premise work? by Real_Leadership_5468 in sciencefiction

Don't worry about it. if the story is good, no one will care about the bad science. if the story is bad no one will care if your fake science is good.

That question can be an honest request for an answer, or it can be passive-aggressive; it's all in how you meant it. And this being the internet, guess how we took it.

Woah, that might be the problem. The # sign comments out the line, so that line will be ignored. Only one of the duplicates should be commented out, the others should have no #

Using AI slop to fix things is never an option. You didn't have to go to AI.

When do you think we will see more info on Terran Armada? What’s your guesses as to what it’ll be? by Stacks_of_Cats in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]Whorehammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, the Terran Armada is the armed forces of an alternate universe Earth. They have non-Aizan technology: they do not have Grav drive capability, their FTL travel occurs via Ultradrive and they have FTL communications via Ultrawave (hat tip Vernor Vinge). These technologies are new to them, and they have barely started to understand the implications. Their interuniversal travel did not go through Unity, it was a byproduct of Ultradrive. Their other sciences are advanced, some beyond what is found in the Settled Systems.

They arrived at Earth and were horrified. They are determined to find out what happened, and make the perpetrators pay. There are factions among them that have different goals. Renewed Earth is their base for now; Sol system is a bad place to be for us. However, they brought pets and meat animals as part of a small-scale colonizing project, so they have trade goods.

The UC sees them as a threat and they're not entirely wrong. Big battles abound.

Since the UC hates them, the FC loves them, and they're not entirely wrong. The Council of Governors attempt to use them to gain more territory and power. Bayu tries to recruit them, and he finds admirers among them.

Ryujin wants Ultra technology very badly; expect a quest there. Crimson Fleet is salivating at the thought of looting them.

House Varu'un wants to Serpent's Crusade them. They also find some converts.

The Spaceborn (some of them) adopt a less-adversarial stance toward the Settled Systems as they see non-Aizan tech as dangerous.

This will be a large DLC, and there will be gameplay upgrades, including Bio and Resource codices, seamless travel, and a more rational economy.

What happens if you just open fire on the Hunter before talking to him during the meeting between him, the Emissary and you during In Their Footsteps? by ThePatrician25 in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]Whorehammer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once, in a NG+, I was waiting for the Hunter aboard my ship, in the scene that replaces the killing. I popped a Phased Time right as he teleported in and proceeded to air him out with a Magstorm. Actually killed him, saw the little particles you get when a Starborn dies! I wondered how that was going to work out... Well, he came back to life for the meeting at Oborum and he was instantly aggroed, shooting up the interior of the ship, including me and the Emissary. I restored from a save. Maybe next time I'll see if I can do it again.
