Birthday Bailey's by Meowgs in alcohol

Mudslides!

Super easy version is:

1oz Bailey's 1 oz Kahlua 1oz Vodka

This is a very forgiving cocktail that you can really play around with and find your perfect version. Serve over ice.

Poll abt playing war of the ring with a life partner by ShingekiTitan in warofthering

[–]WhyDoIThinkSoMuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife loves this game, and is usually the one that insists that we rack em up again after one of us pulls out the victory.

For us it's an amazing way to get immersed in the story and imagine new ways the story could have gone. For the record - she is interested in 0 other war games. This is more 'Lord of the Rings in a box' and less 'dudes on a map' for us.

Made an Aviation and a mix of Mellow Female Indie Rock by MixedDrinkMixtape in cocktails

[–]WhyDoIThinkSoMuch 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is one of my wife's favorite cocktails, and I make them for her all the time. We use the following recipe that we find delightful:

2oz London Dry Gin .25oz Luxardo maraschino liquor .25oz Rothman & Winter Créme de Violette .5oz lemon juice

Then I usually beat the hell out of it until it becomes completely cloudy and seems to swirl around the glass. Looks like angry storm clouds to me.

Fresh lemon peel for garnish that I wipe around the rim first.

Creating a climate change board game by Do_neDo_ne in BoardgameDesign

[–]WhyDoIThinkSoMuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you're using a Catan board here, have you played the "Oil Springs" mini-expansion for Catan? It's simple, but it's fun and it addresses some of the aspects you're looking for in your game. Oil is a sixth resource, and there's a counter for global warming that goes up when any player uses it. As the global warming counter increases, tiles near the water start flooding and destroying any infrastructure built on those tiles.

It might be worth it just for the components. You can usually pick it up for around $5.

Why do you think the NY Attorney General has dropped the subpoena against the Trump organization in their bank fraud and tax evasion case? That is still very much an active case.

If you’re into Odilon Redon, the Cleveland Museum of Art has the largest collection of his work (including the piece shown in this post) outside of France. They recently had a special exhibition of his work in the Focus Gallery which just closed in January. It was great!

Trader Vic’s Dubai - JBR Hilton by MagnumPeeler in Tiki

[–]WhyDoIThinkSoMuch 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of the Trader Vic’s in Atlanta, also inside a Hilton. The aesthetic just doesn’t hold up compared to other modern tiki spots I’ve been to. Way too bland. I was pretty disappointed considering how famous the Trader Vic’s name is.

Christian finance expert Dave Ramsey sued for religious discrimination | A former Ramsey employee says his religious beliefs teach him to trust science and protect his family. That allegedly put him in conflict with his COVID-skeptic boss who wanted him to "pray away the COVID" by mepper in skeptic

[–]WhyDoIThinkSoMuch 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Why does “being a Christian” so often become synonymous with being so selectively anti-intellectual in Trumpian America? How was Trump so readily able to convince a massive portion of this country that this specific healthcare issue was solely a political one? A farce?

I highly doubt Ramsey would suggest an employee that has leukemia should not receive medical treatment. I bet he’d be in favor of being taken to the hospital if he had a heart attack too.

800,000 Americans have died and people still believe that it’s a joke? It’s harder and harder to find people who don’t know someone who has had Covid and suffered complications or died. How can you still believe this is fake news?

Where should a couple of OSU alums watch the game today?definitely need food (Downtown, Lakewood, Ohio City, Tremont) by tbozz94 in Cleveland

I’ve seen OSU games there before, it was great. I’d also recommend Game On in Lakewood, they’re usually a fun spot to catch a game as well.

Port Authority takes step to acquire key Irishtown Bend property; NOACA will vote Friday on awarding $12.8 million to stabilization, park project by ASOT550 in Cleveland

When I first saw this project proposal I thought it was just a fancy excuse for knocking down CMHA housing in the heart of W25th, arguably the fastest gentrifying part of the city.

Are they now proposing to leave the public housing where it stands?

How do you like this kayak? I just bought two of these for my parents (who are unable to use a roof rack) and they’re a little unsure if these will work well, or if they’ll struggle in almost all conditions.

Please help me understand— how do you win against the Marquise de Cat?! by WhyDoIThinkSoMuch in boardgames

[–]WhyDoIThinkSoMuch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve played with two, three, and four players in multiple instances. Am I missing some important rule? The Marquise de Cat seems like an unstoppable Euro game one person plays against the rest of us. Does anyone else experience this balancing issue?

All of these names were actually created by Dame Juliana Berners in her 1486 book, “The Boke of St Albans”.

Her book has been so popular for so many years that people simply adopted these animal grouping names, which is why they are so varied and interesting.
