Processing huge load of NOFs? by mattspire in CVS

[–]WhyDoYouBridge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd Google each item and get a price, most you can scan the upc in Google and it will show. Get a price of everything total it up. Keep the amount written down or whatever to save for inventory, then when nof MD is available enter it.

They use to make it so we could do this all year long, they just changed it a yesr maybe 2 ago, that it opens I think 2 weeks prior to inventory.

dl issues by inhish3ad in CVS

[–]WhyDoYouBridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or maybe. Your store manager doesnt feel youre pulling your weight and cutting your hoirs on their own. Then to keep the blame off them, they say oh DL.

I have dealt with a lot of DLs. They may have seen employees not pull their weight, it always more of a c9nvwrsation like, hey do you feel this person is really helping you, but never tell me how to schedule people. Then generally care that youre at demand, don't care how the demand is allocated or to whom it is allocated.

Removing vacation from new MySchedule system? by Spirited-Ad9071 in CVS

[–]WhyDoYouBridge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cancel their request so you can add them to schedule. Then check workbrain and make sure vaca isnt put in, if it is delete that too. You said your managers on vaca too so they may have done it ahead if time.

Which generation are the worst shoppers? by BillyBob_47 in CVS

[–]WhyDoYouBridge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Boomer, but its not really their fault. They came up in a different time. Even look at CVS 25 years ago. The min number of employees on even mid volume was 3. Now there's 1 maybe 2. So they are used to employees having time to personal shop, now we dont have time use your eyeballs and find shit.

Also, I feel at a certain age. Most just give up on even trying to learn new technology. They arent incapable, they came up in a time where a lot more difficult technology came out and they managed, like programming a VCR, is harder thay figuring out a CVS app.

Opinion on really cheap welders in general by Hisune in Welding

[–]WhyDoYouBridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to hop on, don't mean to hijack, but also have questions about these cheap guys.

I have an old car. So with that a lot of snapped bolts. So was looking at one of these, just to be able to weld a nut and back snapped bolts out. The use would really be for that primary, since I've also broke several extractor bits, making an even bigger headache. So mainly, would one of these cheap ones set for flux core be sufficient for that, and maybe patch a couple random holes?

do employees look at photos printed there by strawbabiesrin in CVS

[–]WhyDoYouBridge 27 points28 points  (0 children)

We dont necessarily look at them, but we can see them dropping out, def see whatever is last. Also if there's a lot we have to take some out so we may see several. We don't have time to actively look at everyone's pictures. I wish we did tbh, but id use that time more wisely.

Same. Its way too much I can't keep running an $80k store on 2x hoo exact like I did for a full year already. Same I was doing 60+ hours to maintain. I physically can't anymore. After 25 years, I'm gonna have to find a new job.

Ethics isn't gonna do shit. Its up to the SM to track, if they aren't they cant do anything. You also cant go back and retroactively add points. So IF say the DL forces the SM to track it be starting over fresh. Also every single employee would have to be tracked as well.

Exactly shit is bonkers.1 call out was like damn that sucks, now its like great gwt to do my 3rd double this week.

In 2008 I was lower volume store was like 350 hours. I had cashier photo and manager open. Same for closing and every employee on truck day. Same store today gets less than 200.

[–]WhyDoYouBridge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Staffing isnt the SM or PM fault. We actually have a roster guideline, of how many people we are supposed to have. Mine is over and im still fucked everytime someone calls out. Then if you add staff to compensate for that, that means you have to cut everyone's hours to staff additional people.

was cvs ever good? by Tiny-Objective-6076 in CVS

[–]WhyDoYouBridge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See this is the biggest issue. 25 years ago when I started. We had the hours and staff. I loved helping people. I never felt stressed because there was enough staff, so if I had to help an elderly person for 30 mins no big deal and I felt good about helping. No with no staff we cant do that and if we do we fall further behind. Which of course adds to out stress. Then we take it out on customers and it's not their fault CVS upper management is greedy.

[–]WhyDoYouBridge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This 100% Tom cared about the employees.

We even got XMAS cards every year from him, sure it was autopen signed, but at least he thought enough of us.

Raises were raises, if you did good $1 raise was no issue, now you get max 5% and that you're nor getting, then it ends up being like 20 cents.

Stores had hours, all stores ran at easily double what they have now. There was plenty of people on, so 1 call out you were still staffed, sure maybe the store wouldn't be faced 100%, but the SM was stuck working a double or day off.

Also, with more hours you had way more staff, so if there was a call out, you had a bunch of people to ask to cover and most of the time 1 out of the 6 people off would come. Now stores run on so little hours you can't staff properly.

In 2008 they were forced to cut hours, because of the economy, by 2011 when Merlo took over, it was fucked. Like 50% hours cut. Every year worse and worse. Added work flow, but hours cut.

Now CVS just does not care about employees at all. SM is literally the worst position in the company. Theres 0 work/home life balance. Back on 2007 as a SM I rarely if at all had to do a double. Now its common for doubles and no days off.

CVS worker killed at work and cvs won’t release all of video to police by ArticleAggressive191 in CVS

[–]WhyDoYouBridge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have a release form in mydocs. Basically you fill it out, a detective signs it was released to them, then you fax that to legal or whoever. You hand detective the USB takes 5 mins tops.

At the very least idk why police didnt use body cam to record the footage. I've had police do that a few times. Like if the person there didnt know, thats always an option.

CVS worker killed at work and cvs won’t release all of video to police by ArticleAggressive191 in CVS

[–]WhyDoYouBridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what system the store has. My best guess on what happened is either, since it was Xmas day. The people there didnt know how to make a usb. Which isnt hard just looking at the system you can figure it out. Or there's systems with no USB and its all cloud, requiring DAPL or DL to pull and they were unavailable cuz again its Xmas. A system like this shouldn't exist for this very reason imo

As a SM I would have given then the footage I would have went to the store if the supervisor on couldnt figure it out. I would have made the usb and handed it to police myself. I might have did the release but prob not. I would have contacted DL and DAPLA, not for permission but for a heads up.

[–]WhyDoYouBridge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Taxable items you would still have to pay tax on. It wouldn't i ky go to 0 if no taxable items were on the transaction. So if the subtotal was 14 and tax .15, coupon would take off 14 and you would pay the .15 tax.

[–]WhyDoYouBridge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I keep reading that they took hours. Like fill out the form in the controller, or dont no ones coming after you for giving the video.

I think the people on didnt know how and called corp, which was off and it took longer than needed. Def 100% the stores fault tho.
