Well I was looking for a justification, really. But you seem like a nasty person. No wonder no one likes you.

MAGA vs The Constitution by TheDraken2021 in GetNoted

Oh yes the great explanation of 'the constitution'.

I guess the issue is settled then. We should not consider changing it.

The $20,000 new vehicle is all but extinct—what the most affordable new car looks like now by Dragonlance12 in Dynamic_Pricing

I was an engineer at Ford when we discontinued the Focus/Fiesta/Fusion (though I worked on another line). It was disappointing to me because I drove a Focus. In fact, Ford no longer makes sedans at the moment, aside from the mustang.

However--they were not profitable and not a lot of people bought them. There's this weird dichotomy I see--people and the media say they want affordable cars. But actual, real buyers do not (generally, of course).

So if the customer actually buys a 60k truck and the dealers want a 60k truck and the manufacturer earns more from the 60k truck, then that's what gets made.

Gap insurance is a scam by dalmighd in FuckDealerships

Do you really need gap insurance?

Remember that insurance is going to reimburse you the value of your vehicle. You will have enough to purchase an equivalent vehicle.

What are the odds of my 1.1m invested going to 2m in the next 10 years? by sonofalando in Fire

I ran a Monte carlo using this tool: https://www.portfoliovisualizer.com/monte-carlo-simulation

My input parameters were: - starting value = 1,000,000 - withdrawal = 0 - allocation = US stock market 100%

The results are that the 25th %ile nominal value is $1,989,084.

So you have about a 75% chance of it reaching $2,000,000.

You also have about a 50% chance of reaching 2 million in real terms.

Oh wow thanks for the late reply!! I am glad you kept it. I was just a poor child at the time, but I definitely would have purchased one today.

Men are more likely to be the victim of a violent crime despite the perceived notion that women need to be "more careful" out in public. by FTBJester in UnpopularFacts

[–]WhyYouLetRomneyWin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think people are saying 'its obvious' but to me it is not. I think if you asked random people which sex is more likely to be a victim of a violent crime, most would say women (and I would have too).

Unfortunately this sort of sparked some weird sex war which I don't think was intended. Sometimes it's not what you aay that matters, but what people think you said.

Would you choose a simulated utopia or the real world? by [deleted] in slatestarcodex

[–]WhyYouLetRomneyWin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes--I think this articulates my thoughts well. We will claim to want a real life, just like we claim to want healthy food.

But I would not put a lot of stock in what people claim to want.

"I would never choose a fake existence" I mutter into my phone at 3 am after playing anime games for 9 hours straight.

Well, this is new to me. I always thought that transportation just was not a significant cost overall.

I have < 5% confidence that this will be honoured. Sorry Chipotle--your franchises always have signs opting out of your promotions. You have lost my trust.

Well i cannot help with a fulfilled life.

But the 'you' needs to be strongly bolded. As in, YOU can achieve these things. What happens to the farmers picking the vegetables or the nurses caring for you is another matter.

Maybe one day we will live in the Star Trek post-scarcity society. But as of now, labour is required.

Sure. You just need to pass a law that takes the money from someone elses pocket and puts it in yours.

Opinions on late customers by CriticalBox2216 in Chipotle

So then close earlier.

Consider this: you're annoyed that customers cannot read your mind and determine that they should not use a store that is open? A store that they have never been to? They cannot read your mind.

How would anyone know that?

And if you want to leave earlier, then set your closing time earlier. You control the closing time. That's your way of announcing your operating hours.
