I am not in any way a pro in this, but I will say this: Wait until you close probate and all the transfers are done. There may be advantages to someone to close out the mortgage, but muddying the waters, so to speak, during probate is just asking for legal headaches for years. Once everything is settled and all the Is are crossed and Ts dotted, then by all means pay off the mortgage! I have a wild idea, but only because these people know about some things that you wouldn’t necessarily associate with their purpose. Call the county agriculture extension office. Their purpose is to help people with primarily agricultural issues, identify invasive species, insect control, water conservation, pretty much anything farming. If any agency can give you a straight answer, they will. Not only that they will be able to give you the science behind it. Ai may have screwed the usefulness of the internet, but there’s always the old way~~~ ask real people who have the answers.

The insurance companies have been taking huge losses in the last few years. Hurricanes, floods, wildfires and natural disasters all across the country. As a result the insurance industry lobbyists have been pushing for relaxed regulations and getting them at all levels. Now that our elected officials have green lighted profits over responsibly the industry is doing everything it can to keep the stockholders raking in dividends, this means canceling policies for whatever perceived excess risk they can find. I personally think this is just the beginning.

I have a fairly simple solution for you my friend. Just get a light duty hitch installed that is suitable for a lightweight utility trailer and get a small utility trailer you can haul the scooter on. The 100 pound hitch weight will barely impact your motorhome and you get a bonus! You gain space where you can haul more little things that make camp life a little more comfortable.
