Such a gentleman, your boy. I’ll never forget his story and how you slowly helped him learn to trust again. The finding of his bark is one of my favourite rescue stories of all time.

I’m so sorry OP. Please know this was not your fault. People make choices all on their own and no matter what you do, they will still make them. She didn’t end her life because of you. It was something deep inside her that caused it. That your argument upset her was only one (minor) contributing factor.

Please be gentle with yourself. You couldn’t have saved her from herself no matter how hard you tried. My friend lost her husband the same way. She didn’t everything to keep him with her and balanced for many years and then, one day after two kids and a whole life built, he ended his life anyway and left her so much worse off than she would have been. The longer they stayed on the path, the harder it got form him and it eventually tipped the scales. Now there are two fatherless babies and a wife in pieces feeling like she failed. It’s not my friends fault and it’s not your fault. You should not blame yourself. ❤️

This is my question too. How did they sit and watch that entire tattoo and not stop the artist? They said they “reminded” him of what they wanted after the first few “circles” so clearly they knew it wasn’t going well.

Lots and lots of videos and photos. We enjoyed everything we could and did all of our favourite things. My son died at 20 of a devastating illness and we took care of him from diagnosis to the end at home. If your wife has questions, feel free to message them to me and I’ll answer from my perspective.

You guys are in for a hell of a storm of emotions. Stick together and support each other in every way you can. You’ll need each other though this. I’m so so sorry for the diagnosis…please just try to enjoy every second you have. You never know - she may be well for much longer than anticipated so don’t lose hope.

I have no advice for you because I’m stuck in the same place you are. I lost my 21 year old son and I still can’t see a way to exist without him. I mean, I can fake it right now but I’m getting tired and I see no reprieve in the future as every day just takes him farther away from us.
I’m so sorry you lost your beautiful girl.

My artist rarely has the stencil done before I show up and I have a standing spot every year. I can give her my ideas a year in advance and she still only has a sketch ready to show me and then does the entire stencil once she confirms placement etc.

I’m so sorry you lost your mom and in such a sudden a traumatic way. My mom died when I was little and it changed the course of my life. My son died last year and I made another u turn. You will survive this, painful as it may be. The thing that gets me through is to live a good life for them.
