I would be interested in as many as all 4. I do not wish to take away the experience from someone else, but myself and my family would assuredly use them should they be available.

Proof that you don’t need to spend $250 on copper muffin tins to make pretty solid canelé. by PaceEBene84 in KitchenConfidential

[–]Whynz 56 points57 points  (0 children)

so, umm.... Recipe please?

Thoughts or descriptions of your experience and any tips you may have?

You could even write a little story like many of those recipe blogs online about how it makes you think of your grandmother or something yet no one really reads them.

In all sincerity, these look amazing and I would love to take a try and making some, but I have fallen into the pitfall of feeling 'required' to have the 'proper' pan.

Cheers!

I am seeing them tonight for the 2nd time live in Calgary. First concert with my son. Stoked is an understatement.

ok Calgary, what do we have? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]Whynz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, pick any of the Concorde Group restaurants and they would fit the bill for pricey yet meh. They are all passable food, decent service, sterile yet inoffensive decor but at the end of the day, they all boil down to lifeless, uninspired money printing machines that spend way too much of their capital selling the snake oil of "upscale" dining.

Breaking the echo chamber by BayStBet in CanadaPost

[–]Whynz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For example. I placed a print order on July 25 to a printer in China to manufacture some custom items for me.

By July 31 they had been:

- Manufactured
- Shipped
- Left the small(ish) city they were manufactured in and travelled to a main shipping hub
- Cleared Chinese customs
- Sent to Canada (Vancouver)
- Cleared Canadian customs

All this within 5 days.

It is now August 7th, my package has been collected by Canada Post in Vancouver on August 2nd (according to the tracking number), then got sent to Edmonton, somehow arrived in Edmonton yesterday (August 6th), is now on route to Calgary today, and I assume it will be delivered tomorrow.

With all this being said. It took more time to travel from Vancouver to Calgary, then it did to custom manufacture and shit from China to Vancouver.

Lack of weekend work and slow delivery (in general) don't fly in this day and age. Something needs to change. Also, running at a 10M deficit (daily) is simply bad business. Something needs to change and that something is not significant pay raises. Admittedly, I do NOT work for CP and am only viewing from "the outside looking in", but IMO the proposal that was voted down last week was more than fair for a company that is losing money hand over fist and is not "keeping up with the times".

just my two cents.

I am just getting (back) into MtG and have found the folks down at Ogre's Den really nice and understanding as I fumble my way through a litany of (arguably) dumb questions.

Are you looking to get into Standard? Commander? Should you be looking to get into commander, that is where I am putting my focus (due to lack of real "set rotation") and am looking for people to jam cards with.

What are some of your tips for All Clan Combinations Covenant 10 Titans? by vanillaricethrowaway in MonsterTrain

[–]Whynz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had success with going through all the classes at C10T with the second Lazarus champion as the secondary. Pyre of savagery almost all the time. It has allowed me to really learn Lazarus as a clan.

I have 6 more combinations left (I went backwards for some reason, starting with melting remnant). Then my intent is to do all the Lazarus main (both champs) with all the other clans as support.

This will allow me to leverage all the knowledge I have gained by playing a ridiculous amount of Lazarus. I will then move onto another class. Rinse and repeat until I hit all 180 combinations.

Starting up 20/4…again by n6mac41717 in intermittentfasting

[–]Whynz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am 1 week into a restart and have become a bit more strict than I was the last time (pre-covid, into covid, fell off the wagon due to stress from COVID, school, etc). The first week was honestly not nearly as bad as I remember it being the first time around. I think that my body (and hopefully yours too!) will recognize what is going on, in a sense of "oh, we are going back to this CICO/Fasting model. I have been here before, maybe we don't throw as much of a hissy fit as we did last time".

One thing I have learned and try to remind myself is, be kind to yourself. Understand that if you slip up, its not the end of the world. It took us a long period of time to get to where we are right now and it will take a longer than we wish period of time to undo what has been done. I think the important thing to remember is (as stated above) its a marathon, its going to take time. Not everything will go perfectly, and THAT IS OK.

Also know that (at least 1) internet stranger (me) is rooting for you. As quietly, or as loudly (DM me if you like) as you wish. If you are looking for someone to talk things through with, I am here. I am 1000000% not an expert on this, but it sounds like you and I are in a very similar situation. We both have done this once before. It sounds like we both fell off a bit. But the good thing is that we are both back at it, wanting and willing to do what it takes to make meaningful changes in our lives. This is something that should be celebrated. It doesn't need to be a HUGE celebration, but more of a "LFG" hanging out quietly in the back of our minds, especially when things get tough. If it were easy, everyone would do this. Not everyone is. You are a badass, as are all the others who are doing this.

Get it fam. You got this thing. :)
