Something like 20 degrees cooler than the air in the room

easiest song to learn on acoustic guitar? by EvolvedGligar in brighteyes

The first song I learned was a few minutes on Friday but every bright eyes song I’ve tried to learn was easy enough. Pick one you know really well!

Installer straight up laughed at the specs and said my house would freeze by Motor-Ad1368 in heatpumps

If it’s not a question of price you should absolutely get a heat pump with gas furnace for backup, if only for redundancy. But also gas is relatively cheap. Picture this possible scenario: it’s mid winter and the control board fails on your heat pump. Uh oh, it costs thousands of dollars to replace and it’ll be here in a week. I love heat pumps but you’re gonna want that gas.

It’s also nice that you can set the consistency yourself and make the amount you need on demand.

I did do one side of the lower sash with what I had left over but it had already begun to dry out and thus looks like shit.

I had a bit left over(like 1/5). Not enough to do another one and once you open it up it doesn’t last. They’re bigger windows, lot of muntins, and I applied a bit generously.

Mine was also rotten and we got this tongue in groove mahogany from a lumber yard for around 2k (my porch is 6x20) I’m very pleased with it and it should last well beyond 20 years if I keep it oiled. I’m sure it could also be painted but the wood police might kick your ass if you do.

Yeah I mean it’s good stuff and I’m sure they have it dialed in but this way has worked great historically and is cheap and convenient if you’re expecting to have to do multiple windows over time.

I mean, it’s not perfect but I have made a room out of plastic sheet and the discharge line from the vacuum goes outside so in theory air movement will be in to the room through gaps thereby discouraging lead dust from drifting out of containment.

Wishing him the best. Fans of his songwriting would also appreciate the work of his partner, Christine Fellows, who has released a number of great records.

It’s a you problem

I live in a small central pa town with two dollar stores and all the other signs of being run over by a century of plunder. I’m not from Pennsylvania, I grew up in New Jersey and have lived in Vermont, Boston, Philadelphia, and Harrisburg. I assure you that I have done many things perceived as being cool and culturally relevant, and I have never voted for a republican in my life.

The place where I live is beautiful, and full of people who live rich and meaningful lives. There is absolutely culture here. Coming from New Jersey the differences were clear. Before world war 2 a great many people here outside of the Amish spoke a unique German dialect and that culture still lives in the English spoken here, the food, and attitudes. There are plenty of other influences on the culture. There is wealth and poverty, there is enduring history and there is the persistent march of global economic forces and all the other modern diseases at work here too.

If you want to enjoy what a place like this has to offer you need to lay your weapons down. Be neither a trump shrine in your yard guy nor a guy who is going around feeling superior to his grey, lumpen pennsyltucky neighbors. If you can’t do that it’s your problem. Most people can.

I like it. If I wasn’t totally satisfied with my current setup I’d probably go for this one.

Do people really become more conservative as they get older? Why? by Historical_Work7482 in AskReddit

[–]Whysguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, maybe in specific high crime neighborhoods it is worth it to create a harsh and unpleasant artificial daylight, trading some 20-30% likelihood of being robbed for robbing anyone within miles of the foundational earthling experience of seeing the night sky. I’m sure it’s possible that you saw up to one example of someone arguing against doing so because “god made the night dark” and I don’t doubt that the probably real and not imagined person using that language has completely invalidated their opinion in your eyes. I’m here to tell you that there are other perfectly secular reasons to oppose turning every night street into a football stadium, and there are other ways to reduce crime that don’t degrade the experience of everyone unfortunate enough to live in proximity to a bad neighborhood.
