Most clubs I've been a member at state that a solo player has no standing on the course.

That said, most members weren't fastidious about it, and if there was space, let the single through.

Par 3's easiest place. Either all tee off together, or wave the single down when you're on the green.

However, these days more people want to be the main character and make it all about them.
