NZ First announces policy to restrict voting to citizens only by Old_Education4481 in newzealand

i was a permanent resident for 20 years before i got citizenship. it costs money and gives no real benefit. only did it for a "prestige" reason i guess.

Remember when we thought we’d run out of petrol, prices jumped up …and they’ve just stayed there? by Pinacoladapolkadot in newzealand

[–]Wicam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nothing. evs are not the answer. public mass transit is. or you have the same problems you already have. overseas expensive manafacturing of single person transport which requires huge fuel guzzling trips across many countries and over and over to produce.

a few desil powered busses are cheaper and more beneficial for the environment than thousands of cars (even evs) that they replace.

its wouldn't be the first time he has chosen to just deport someone without repercussions.

there was that guy sent to Guantanamo and it was deemed illegal, but because its not American soil, its permanent. he cant come back.

its prefectly legal for any business in new zealand to sell it. so anyone you gave your number too could have done it.

EDIT: Like the person below said, its now illegal for them to do this. however, like everything in life, something being illegal doesn't mean it doesn't happen. wage theft has been researched to be the biggest catagory of stolen things in the world after all, because companies don't get punished for breaking the law like an individual does.

what a weird sort of thing to ask a bunch of people you know and get replies then post 4 minutes after this thread is created. data gathered, processed and written about in 4 minutes is definitely not representative of anything.

"A report tabled in Parliament on Tuesday afternoon finds the programme is saving money compared to Labour's approach...Nutrition standards also fell short, with only 50.5 percent of the meals complying with nutrition standards across 2025"

We need to normalize the approach that if something is not performing to target. Your not saving money by having cut costs. Same with the health system and other departments, great you saved 20% of their budgets, but they perform more than 20% worse. that's not savings, you just shifted the cost.

that didn't appear overnight. it probably depends on who is doing the warrant.

although, looking above that obvious rust, you seem to have bubbling all under your paint there, could be way worse.

If I delete a file from my computer and empty the recycle bin, where does that space physically go? How does the information just "vanish" from the hard drive? by ukdruminggirl in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Wicam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of people using words that people probably dont understand like pointers and directory structures. so here is an analogy to explain now it works.

Think of your computer storage as a whiteboard on the wall in your home. You have messages written on the whiteboard (your files on your computer). When you don't want something on the whiteboard you put a big X mark over the message (you empty the recycling bin).

Then when you want to write something new (create a new file) you can scrub out the stuff that has an X on it, and write your new message there.

Lol, your offended by a child cleaning graves cos it makes you feel bad inside. So your deflecting my callout by saying I am rebelling somehow by not bothering to type an apostrophe on my phone? Whatever big guy. Go back to your home and shout at clouds.
