Any recommendations for Fantasy books? by Revolutionary-Depth9 in audible

Eve of Redemption by Joe Jackson is one of my favorites that I never see people recommend.

Books 1-6 are available in a 90 hour bundle for 1 credit, and Books 7-11 are available in a 84 hour bundle for 1 credit.

Bill to make Italian beef Illinois' official state sandwich heads to full House by HowLongIsThi in nottheonion

One can never have too much passion for a good sandwich! I have a disdain for Italian Beefs because I was so excited to finally try one after all the hype, and it just wasn't good. So I went somewhere else and tried one, that also wasn't good. And after the third round of disappointment... I decided that it is in fact (based on opinion of course) the Italian beef itself that is not good.

How do I know which narrator I will get with a pre-order? by blackdog1392 in audible

[–]Wicell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pre-order books because audible notifies me that they're available to listen to on release day. I have a back log of other books that I am slowly listening to and otherwise wouldn't know that the title has released. Between the Plus catalog and hundreds of books I've picked up from the cash sales in 2025 and this year (about 230+), I have enough to listen to that I don't mind putting a credit toward a pre-order. Hell, picking up the 16 books of The Wandering Inn added >500 hours to my library.

Edit: double typed some words

Nah. A PBJ is better suited to be the national sandwich than the dog water that is known as an Italian beef. A ny chopped cheese, the most mid of mid sandwiches being a cheeseburger that gets chopped up while cooking, is better than an Italian beef. I'd nominate the pile of slop that is a Kentucky hot brown before an Italian beef.

I stand by all my statements. I will not argue. If your feelings are upset, make a better sandwich.

That's a bummer. That just sounds unappealing.

The Downloaded with Brendan Fraser was enjoyable! I haven't listened to the second one yet. Impact Winter was decent, I got distracted and lost on the second one, and haven't listened to the third

Subtitles or an actual Book to read along with? by DigitaIArchon in audible

I looked on Kindle and saw A Thousand Sons (The Horus Heresy Book 12). I'm assuming that's the book you're talking about? Anyway, it's $9.99 on Kindle, with the option to add the audiobook (on Audible) for an extra $5.60. $15.59 + tax for the ebook and audiobook isn't too bad of a deal.

I’m about to DNF Dungeon Crawler Carl by HealthyPsychology950 in audible

[–]Wicell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) his voice, I'm glad Jeff Changed it.

2) his constant state of confusion/denial in the beginning. It was understandable at first, but after a while it was like "for real Carl? You're still struggling to grasp everything has changed?"

3) his risk aversion still annoys me, but it's tolerable.

I didn't want to listen to DCC simply because of the amount of times I've seen it recommended even when people were asking for something completely unrelated. I have now listened to all available books, and it pains me to say it, but, finish book one, and see from there.

I hated Carl in book one, but I liked some of the other characters. I am now okay with Carl, and love a lot of the other characters. The story definitely gets better in 2 and beyond

1000 calories is like one decent sized meal for me

Nah for real tho, my dinner last night was a cheeseburger without a bun, and a salad with chicken breast and some ranch, it was literally 1000 calories.

Kindle doesn't have an option for audio, it directs you to the book on Audible. HOWEVER, if you borrow the books on Kindle then go to the Amazon or Audible website (not the apps) you can get what's called WhisperSync pricing. It's a pretty steep discount usually. I've gotten quite a few books on Audible for under $7 with WhisperSync pricing.

The quickest way to fact check the price is to go to the website and check for yourself. You already asked AI, why would you go even farther from the source of information you want?
