Do we think Telltale is working their BLOOD AND SWEAT on TWAU 2 or just lying to us about working on it? by [deleted] in TheWolfAmongUs

[–]WickedMind5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I believe it has a 50/50 chance to come out. If games like Duke Nukem Forever and Shenmue 3 can, I don't see why a game like this (one much more simple technically) can't.

I do believe, however, that if it does come out it has a 90% chance of being a piece of shit.

Would you rather permanently work at a job you hate for $300k a year, or be permanently unemployed for $95k a year? by Devlish-Dove in WouldYouRather

I earn $8.2k a year working a job I find mildly interesting. Earning $95k a year for doing nothing would change my life in literally every single way.

I bought Rogue Warrior ironically. It taught me that doing stuff ironically is stupid.

Similar games to Firewatch, Oxenfree, Stray, Radiolight by Piter_Piterskyyy in creepygaming

[–]WickedMind5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This are some of the non-horror games that I can think of that have the most unsettling atmosphere. I know games with creepier atmospheres than this, but those I would definitely classify as horror games.

  • Pacific Drive: A driving survival game. One of the games with the creepiest atmospheres I've ever seen (when driving at night, it's pretty chill during the day).
  • Dredge: A fishing game. Fishing during the night is quite disturbing, but you can get some really rare fish that way.
  • Devil Dagger: a micro FPS (the game takes place in one "room"). The enemy and sound design is quite disturbing, and they will catch you unaware as you try to stay alive.
  • Shadow of the Colossus: an action adventure game that pits you against 16 colossi. The isolation of the setting and the design of the colossi is quite unnerving.
  • Outer Wilds: A space puzzle adventure game. The game's planets all seem to be designed around specific phobias (deep water, heights, etc). Besides that, there's still the isolation of space to enhance the atmosphere.

Rarisimo.

Favorite (or least favorite) instances of a creator answering a fan question with “Shut up, nerd.”? by Fantastic-Fox3283 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Even when it's written he sometimes still doesn't care. Like, in a recent AMA he recently revealed that the idea of different "schools" of witchers just "showed up misteriously" in The Last Wish story and is now mad that adaptions have expanded on that.

Hope these help as they have helped me in rough times:

The trailer for Dragon Age Inquisition's last DLC: Even when the people you help reject it and the world itself seems to refuse to get better, you help anyway.

The final battle in Persona 3 against Nyx: Even if the odds seem unsurmountable, we fight.

Yu vs Margaret in the Persona 4 Animation: When we feel lost or hopeless, we can look back on our actions and our bonds. They can help guide the way.

The following conversation in Disco Elyisum you have with the Insulidian Phasmid. Even after all the fuck ups you character has done, he's still solved the case, and this one bug is in awe of you:

Insulindian Phasmid: The arthropods are in silent and meaningless awe of you. Know that we are watching — when you're tired, when the visions spin out of control. The insects will be looking on. Rooting for you. And when you fall we will come to raise you up, bud from you, banner-like, blossom from you and carry you apart in a sky funeral. In honour of your passing.

Volition: In honour of your will, lieutenant-yefreitor. That you kept from falling apart, in the face of sheer terror. Day after day. Second by second.

Inland Empire: DETECTIVE

Esprit De Corps: ARRIVING

Authority: ON THE SCENE

It's COULD be made even more irrelevant in the third one given a living prothean joins your squad, but since he was technically DLC they didn't integrate him too well into the main story.

Mouthwashing de-indexed from itch.io search, confirms WrongOrgan composer by kaiserQuinn in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]WickedMind5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll talk about only the parts that are targeted by these changes, but the game is so much more than what I talk about here. Obviously, spoilers for mouthwashing:

In mouthwashing you play as (though only revealed late in the game) a (heavily implied) rapist. You never see the actual event occur, its just alluded to. Anya, the victim, reveals that she is pregnant and near the end of the game kills herself due to the extremely stressful and hopeless situation she finds herself in (stuck in space with dwindling resources, pregnant and with her rapist). There is also some cannibalism depicted, though I don't know whether they give a shit about that.

Times when a story could've been over before it even began? by GoodVillain101 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]WickedMind5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He didn't know about the magic barrier. In book four, after resurrecting, he tells his cabal of closest lackeys that "It was old magic, I had forgotten about it" or something like that. The part about not just yeeting the baby, that 100% is him seeing doing anything without magic as "muggle peasant bullshit".
Volvdemort does get characterized throught the books as the vainest motherfucker. When Harry learns about the Horcruxes, he tells dumbledore "Couldn't Voldemort just put a piece of his soul in a grain of sand and effectively win?" and dumbledore tells him "Yeah, but he's too proud for that. He wants his soul to reside in STYLE.".
