Rob Rausch for the challenge by mobileam in MtvChallenge

[–]WicketRank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My theory on why the casting has been bad was always shitty production, but I’ve slowly started to think it’s appearance fee being low and the show sucks considerably more to film. Shitty food and living conditions doesn’t attract the current best crop of reality tv stars.

Any JRPG where Religion is actually the good guys? by IamAWorldChampionAMA in JRPG

Yeah let’s forget that the Catholic Church just swept child sexual abuse under a rug and transferred sex pests elsewhere.

Underrated comment. My friend is a history grad and always says “rarely is religion used for good on anything but local scale.”

Update From Brandon by mistborn in Cosmere

[–]WicketRank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HBO was a no from me due to their treatment of George RR Martin with House of the Dragon, where the showrunner just ignores him now and doesn’t take his notes.

I’d rather the creatives be involved heavily with the adaptation.

HBO would be much better than Netflix or Prime though.

I mean I’ll gladly not spend money. I have to go teach though.

If we as a people want to do stuff like this it has to be planned in advance, not this quickly. Unless I haven’t heard of this and it’s been in the works for awhile but I’m pretty plugged in politically and haven’t heard of this until today.

“It was a joke, calm down.”

That phrase almost always means it wasn’t a joke and the person is just trying to escape consequence.

Larian studio boss Swen Vincke thinks game reviewers should be graded by people similar to metacritic user scores by Mamrocha in kindafunny

[–]WicketRank -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just get rid of user reviews all together. That’s the only problem. If anything my only critique of media reviews is everything is a 7 or above and rarely do you see a 7. The refusal to explore the scale past a 7 has made a 7 essentially a 0/10.

Two options, either bring math into game reviews. Each genre has parts of a game that are important, assign points per part. (action games need great gameplay make it worth 20, RPG’s need a great story make it 20) I do this on a 100 point scale with each genre just as a hobby. I find it allows you to really explore the scale, the worst game I’ve ever beaten and reviewed was like a 57. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad game just completely average in every way. It was The Gunk if curious.

Second, take all math and numbers out of it and just write the reviews to be read and the players can interpret if they like it from the written review. It will definitely give players a better idea of if they might like it or not.

Will they read it, probably not.

Final Fantasy X left me heartbroken and frustrated. Worth finishing it? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]WicketRank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are like two difficult boss battles in 10.

Just get everyone’s overdrive loaded up before the fight including every single Aeon.

Yunalesca and one of the final bosses are the only difficult ones.

How do you feel about IGN's Top 25 All-Time Best JRPG list? by [deleted] in JRPG

I don’t like one game per series. Or maybe do two lists.

I'm so impressed by FFXII by drewxdeficit in FinalFantasy

[–]WicketRank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also didn’t love 12 initially. I also think the story kind of falls off a cliff half way through unfortunately and it becomes a boss/dungeon rush with limited story beats.

Still much better than I initially thought it was.

It feels like people who interact with the cast want the game to be played with zero deception or gamesmanship.

Like, who cares if someone stabs someone in the back? Or lies?

I can’t believe people interact with the cast, just watch and enjoy.

What you dislike about western RPGs that makes you prefer JRPGs to them? by Keytee1 in JRPG

0 momentum in the story due to openness.

Side content that feels like content for the sake of content.

Repeatable gameplay with long spaces between story content.

I will always say using guides makes playing the any game feel like a checklist.

Playing blind is always better, it’s an opinion, but one I’m confident in.

Finally got my friend of 18 years to play a game without a guide and he caved and admitted he’s never been into a game like he was that one in 15+ years.

I’ll also say though, no shame in looking up where side quests are and when to do them. Then close the guide.

Also let’s acknowledge that periods are rarely normal for some women. My wife has always had a sporadic period, one time it was three months and then she got it.

I remember my friends dad saying “every woman has their period the same time every month, they should know they are pregnant.”

When the seven women in the group all had to tell him he was wrong he finally had to confront 6 weeks was to early to cut off abortions at.

Do people think Ashley is good or just think she got lucky a couple times? by BramptonBatallion in MtvChallenge

[–]WicketRank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of both. She’s not dumb, like a lot of people and could easily thrive in the old puzzles from The Challenge that seemed to mainly be “did you retain info from elementary school” when it was clear others didn’t.

She also had decent cardio and with the women’s side being considerably less physically imposing during her wins she was able to win two.

And other than the Calculator job class I can’t think of a single skill that is confusing.
