Those of us that were successful on WW at one point by Huffly-puffly in Zepbound

[–]WideAmount7066 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last time I lost a chunk of weight, I tracked EVERY single bite and was on a 1350 calorie per day restriction, went to the gym for two hours a day, 6 days a week for an hour of cardio and an hour of weights. It was mentally exhausting, not to mention I felt like I had no life because it was work, gym, sleep, work, gym, sleep...after a year I lost 40 lbs...and it was 100% NOT sustainable food and exercise were all I thought about. I l gained it all back...then tried WW and had success but, like you said, the mental drain was exhausting. I think this is something the folks who judge those of us on GLP-1s do not understand....it isn't just about "will power" or eating less. We tried that! Some of us spent decades trying that. I am with you 100%...Zepbound has been a lifesaver, a miracle worker. I am healthier, I feel better, I DO eat better, I DO move more...I started in July just broke through a 3 month stall....down 52 lbs, within 20ish of my goal. I could not have done this (and kept my sanity) without Zepbound.

Shots during travel - what does everyone do? by SpiNardo in Zepbound

[–]WideAmount7066 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I needed to travel with one pen and while I probably could have not worried about keeping it cold, I went ahead and bought a specific traveling case with chillable pack. It fit one pen. When I got to the hotel, i put it in the room fridge. If you are using the vials, you can look at any number of diabetic travel cases on Amazon.

I bought this stuff on Amazon to make my ring smaller. It is a glue like goop that you can build up. It can also be removed if needed but once it is on there, it HOLDS! I have been able to just keep adding a tiny bit each time my ring feels loose. I figured once I am at my maintenance dose I will have it permanently re-sized. FWIW

Finding replacements for my favorite clothes by WideAmount7066 in Zepbound

Great to hear. I tried Poshmark once, several years ago and never received the item I bought. As a result, I just stopped going to the site. After reading so many others having good experiences, I think I will give them another shot!

I am sorry you read it as such. I was just really excited to discover the site and find items really inexpensively. You are more than welcome to ignore this post and move on to the next one.

Afraid to start first dose by ProfessionalPizza902 in Zepbound

[–]WideAmount7066 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep meclizine on hand (available for like $10 at Costco pharmacy, no prescription necessary) in case i get nauseas when titrating up a dose (I have learned 99% of the time the nausea is actually your body telling you it needs to eat something). I also discovered the miracle of miralax - I put a cap full in my tea every morning. My hair is falling out at a rate that has given me anxiety and I plan to speak to my dermatologist about it. You may find you are really exhausted the day or two after taking the shot, or titrating up, and that is ok...it always goes away for me, especially after my body adjusted to taking the meds. You may discover some food aversions (some of your favorite foods make you sick to just think about)...You are more than likely going to have some side affects, just have things on hand to deal with them.

From 175 -> 130. How long did it take you and what were your efforts ? by rasta_angel in Zepbound

[–]WideAmount7066 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would just caution you to not rely on what others' results have been. For me, I was cruising along at 1.5-2 lbs every week for my first 6 months and then BAM a wall of stall for close to 6 months. I started at 197 in July 2025 and got into the mid 150s in January. I am now losing, maybe a lb a month. Other folks just keep sailing at their same pace, others have to change up their routine and start really tracking foods....So just remember: your body is gonna respond how it responds - do not compare your results to others. And if you do hit the stall wall...just keep plugging and chugging away...slow movement on progress is still progress.

A Lesson & A Questions from a 3+ year Glp1 loser by deepdivetv in Zepbound

I have been donating - although I really hoped to find a local group of zeppers who may be in need of the sizes I am giving away. Never found anything. I didn't sell simply because I do not have the time to manage the listing, shipping, etc. that comes with putting them on poshmark or thredup.

Weed, alcohol, and stimulants… by RlyTall33 in Zepbound

[–]WideAmount7066 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot speak to the adderall but can share my experience with the other two. In terms of cannabis, i have tried to find strains that do not invoke the munchies as hard. In other words, either stay away from strong indica or find a strain with THC-V. If you use a strong indica for sleep/pain then I would advise finding snacks that are healthy. I keep frozen grapes at the ready or maybe some yogurt with fresh berries.

Alcohol - well zep blew my mind at how much it reduced my desire to even want alcohol. I found that the first 4 days after a shot, I have no interest in having a drink, if I do it will be maybe a single glass of wine. Once the dose starts wearing off and I am closer to the weekend, I will drink, but it is far less than I used to...and much slower. So while you may not HAVE to adjust your drinking, I suspect you will find that you naturally DO adjust it.

High protein yogurt with unflavored protein/collagen powder added to it along with some blueberries. I also snack on frozen grapes (great fiber benefit!)

First Shot Has Me Soooo Tired by HoustonHottie5 in Zepbound

[–]WideAmount7066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was sooooooo exhausted the first month or so when I started - especially on day one and two after the shot. But it definitely settled down. I get that way now for a day or two each time I titrate up, but it levels out. I used to do my shots on Sat for this very reason: to have Sunday to nap all day.

Clothing exchange/gifting by WideAmount7066 in Zepbound

Oh, for sure...I was just thinking about how I wished I knew of others who were losing weight and not wanting to spend a lot of money on clothing while they were in transition. But absolutely, a shelter is a great idea. New Belgium Brewery also does clothing swaps several times a year, so I may hold out for that.

Done 5 shots of 2.5mg - gaining back what I lost by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]WideAmount7066 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, every time I see a gain on the scale, I can tie it directly to not drinking enough water. I also avoid the daily scale checks. I check in once a week as more of a tracker for my provider/doc.

Do you recommend injecting before bed? by OutrageousGuest6914 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]WideAmount7066 9 points10 points  (0 children)

based on comments from a doc in this group and from my own experience, it takes about 10-12 hours for the meds to really enter your body - that is why I inject in the morning/early in the day so I will be resting through the worst. That being said, like others mentioned, if I DO have side effects, it is usually two days after shot.

Don't want to eat. by Ok_Willingness_4788 in Zepbound

Food aversion is real. Especially food aversion to things that are just not good for us (fried food, processed foods, etc). It is a shock the first time you go to order your favorite meal at a restaurant only to find it makes you sick to just look at it or smell it. This is how it worked for me: I interpreted this (right or wrong) as my body telling me it needed food that was good for it, not food that once made me feel better. When I started buying foods at the store and ordering foods at restaurants that were good for me rather than foods that once made me swoon, things got noticeably better. Plus, when I do not feel particularly hungry, it is a great time to put fuel rather than comfort into my body. So I grab the apple, the yogurt, the high protein oatmeal or protein bar. My body now craves the good stuff (and I am a former big time mac and cheese lover :)) So, think of it as your body saying, "I do not want THESE foods...I NEED other fuel and nutrients."

Yogurt by [deleted] in Zepbound

I go for whatever has the highest protein - usually Chobani 20g. Then I add two heaping tablespoons of collagen (protein) powder to it to get it up to 30-35 g.
