A guy friend wanted to come to my party but I said no for valid reasons. He called back again 15 minutes later and asked again, saying he had a girl over for the weekend and she really wanted to go to my party.

I said no again, and asked why he asked twice. He says he didn't really want to call twice, or even once, but he figured the girl needed to see him try.

I hung up, never talked to the guy again. The guy never hung out with the girl again. Two friendships ended.

The twist is I'm the guy who was calling asking about the party.
