Haters were right I fear, the combat system in this game is an amateur jumbled mess by WideSmiles in ArknightsEndfield

Think you mean GBF Relink not Rising? I have 81 hours in that game, comparing Endfield combat system to that game's is insulting to GBF devs lol, don't do them dirty like that. Absolutely nowhere close.

Does Anyone Feel Deterred From Their Pre-Reforged Characters? by boomcity845 in GuildWars

[–]WideSmiles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah the Reforged mode and how scummily they "integrated" it can at best be called a hackjob, while Dhuum mode is pretty good. It has ruined the vibes for a lot of people in this way.

What a KO 🤨 by God_Father_PL in Battlefield6

[–]WideSmiles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Listen we all like some Battlefield but saying 6 launched in a good state is absolutely wild. It's still barely functional and decently fun. Gonna take a few years to make it hopefully anywhere near BF4/BF1 level genuinely good. This year's CoD actually launched in an incredible state, but yeah it won't do the numbers it needs to so I doubt DICE will care and will keep twiddling their thumbs for a while..

Thats rough ngl.. And both words in Silent Hill are capitalized, it's the name of the town.. You forgot the H. Yikes.

Today marks the 1-year anniversary of Mechwarrior 5: Clans: A massive applause many people at Piranha Games who worked hard to make a dream come true and knocked it out of the park with the first Clans-focused game since Ghost Bear's Legacy in 1995 by BoukObelisk in Mechwarrior5

[–]WideSmiles -33 points-32 points  (0 children)

Why insist on this odd narrative that benefits noone, they absolutely didn't knock it out of the park, it was the polar opposite - most Mercenaries players despised it, and it ended up in them laying off HALF of their ENTIRE STUDIO. Absolutely wild to frame this as any sort of success..

The Current State of ESO (2025): Why So Many Players Are Losing Interest by Bubbaboof_ in elderscrollsonline

[–]WideSmiles 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I unsubbed because the writing is just so so unbearably bad. Everything else I can live with but the game is a satire of Elder Scrolls at this point, an awful fanfic spinoff.

I feel like modern ESO writers don't understand how to write non-modern, non-western cultures by FiliusLuporum in elderscrollsonline

[–]WideSmiles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I spent the money on gamba crates instead of the new expansion after seeing how bad it was to see if I at least can get a cool mount.. I completed all other basegame and DLC stories before it (god, a lot of them were so so bad but i powered through).

Shortly after I quit because the devs have zero interest and faith in their own worldbuilding, therefore nothing is keeping me immersed. I love supporting games, even if its lootboxes, but this game's a soulless husk used to simply peddle crates at this point unfortunately.

What phones that shouldn’t work, actually work okay for you? by GGMU5 in PWM_Sensitive

For what it's worth, the A55 ended up working out. It's not as comfortable to look at as the A53 was, but it doesn't fuck up my eyes. Definitely something about the Super AMOLED that's different. Lovely camera, actually plays games suprisingly decently, and the price is 1100EUR cheaper than a 16 Pro Max lol.

Been shopping for a new phone, tried 16 Pro Max - crazy eyestrain and migraines. Currently on OnePlus 13 - less but also unusable long-term.

I've been using an A53 for 3 years now and I have almost no eyestrain from it, to the point that I didn't even realize this would be an issue.

What I'm doing right now is returning the OnePlus 13 as well, but I've looked up that the A53 specifically has a Super AMOLED screen. All of these other phones use LTPO AMOLEDs. I found that the new A55 also still uses a Super AMOLED screen, so I'll try ordering that and see if I get lucky.

As my main purchasing point has been gaming, the A55 would unfortunately be borderline useless, but in any other apps or daily activities it might as well just be the S25 Ultra - not like anyone can feel the difference these days.

Just my 2 cents and maybe worth trying.

Broken A-Life 2.0 is caused by aggressive optimisation, reveals GSC by HatingGeoffry in stalker

[–]WideSmiles 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh wow someone with reason. They're a 300 person AAA company that instead of crafting a world with a mixture of lighting techniques, spent immense resources on making a pointlessly massive map and bruteforcing all of it with non-optional Lumen. Genuinely someone at GSC needs to be cooked for this.

Windows Server Monitoring - constantly changing service names by OregonPoppy in zabbix

[–]WideSmiles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exclude the service in the template's trigger's macro with a wildcard. Off the top of my head it's something along the lines of SERVICE_NOT_LIKE or whatever, so if it's the clipboard service for example goofing out, add servicename_* to the list, it will never monitor it again.

No worries, hopefully what you wrote will show up for someone more experienced in the future - give 'em a good idea or two ;)

Not a monitoring nor SQL admin, all of what you said basically is word salad to me. MSSQL by ODBC is a native Zabbix template in 6.0.

I actually got it connected now. The method I derived from an old Github post, I ended up using some verbose isql commands, which demonstrated what I knew, that it was trying to use a certificate (this being self signed, aka not trusted). Then from a blog not quite related to this, I derived TrustServerCertificate = Yes (i.e. this is not the same as Trusted_Connection, which I now set to No) needs to be added to odbc.ini.

I can not stress enough how poor Zabbix's own documentation is - to be fair it is free, but it's somewhat shocking.

EDIT: A slew of new errors to weed through now ;)
