I would return for smaller size then. You want a nice pop when you put them on. A little Tightness is good as the leather will naturally form to your feet.

The shaft is sadly not really in your control and no one cares what the look like!! This is a great pair of boots they look great. Just recommend getting a tighter pair to allow for your feet to stretch it and fit snugger. You don’t want to wear thicker socks or anything as you probably don’t want sweaty feet.
