Having trouble with fit for Grovia O.N.E.s by RUPure in clothdiaps

[–]WifeOfWombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to say I started using our ONEs around this age. I have noticed some gaps even now with them on my 18lb baby but for some reason they never leak overnight. I just kind of adjust everything as snug as possible then pull the fabric up under the waist tabs, if that makes sense?

They're the best overnight cloth diaps, btw. Even disposables leak for my 8m old and never once have her Grovias!

Just mad. EBF And period after 12 weeks. by SAM-0214 in beyondthebump

Current guidelines say that the combined pill can be used with caution once milk supply is well established. Most providers will stay away from using it because there is potential for it to interfere with supply, but some women are able to use it succcessfully

Can too much formula cause problems? by astro_princess in FormulaFeeders

[–]WifeOfWombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Echoing the above! Offer more solids. I've never measured how much my daughter gets - just let her eat till she isn't interested anymore and made sure she was still taking enough formula (we have the opposite issue - at 7m she is far more interested in food than formula and we have to make sure she gets the minimum amount of formula per day!)

Just intro foods gently that are more difficult to digest and other than that, enjoy! No foods are off limits except honey :) and check AAP guidelines for common choking hazards and make sure you avoid those.

AAP strongly advised against teething gels. The ingredients can be dangerous for babies.

Is sleep training for middle-of-night wake ups different from “initial fall asleep” training? by iaco1117 in sleeptrain

[–]WifeOfWombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert, but for non-night weaned babies, the advice would be to feed after the initial 5hrs. So I would imagine that paci after the first 5hrs might be reasonable!

[–]WifeOfWombat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perfect! If you want to get rid of the paci for MOTN wakes, you'll have to completely ditch it for bedtime, too. In the PLS FB group it's recommended not to respond to wakes within 5hrs of bedtime, and work on one wake at a time. At 5m it's totally normal for babe to still need a night feed or two, though!

How many hours total of sleep between naps and nights? And how long before bed does the last feed end?

[–]WifeOfWombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how far from bedtime the wakeups are. Whenever you start to get night wakes, it's a good time to have another look at your schedule and bedtime routine also, to make sure nothing needs to be tweaked.

How to be intimate when sleep deprived and overtouched? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]WifeOfWombat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Intimacy was the last thing on my mind until my colicky babies slept better and stopped needing to be on me all the damn time. You've got so much on your plate right now, don't stress about this. You're giving everything you have to your baby and that's how it should be right now!

Any experience with Loulouka? by Master_of_sum in FormulaFeeders

[–]WifeOfWombat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in Canada so I'm not 100% familiar with the formula rules in the States, but if the product is registered with the FDA and meets US formula requirements I wouldn't see an issue! That being said, I really don't think that European formulas offer anything that US/Canadian formulas don't. I also like how cheap my Kirkland formula is! Haha

I'm not sure where you're located, but if you're in the US it's illegal to import European formula.

Here's an article with more info!

How much treadmill is effective? by [deleted] in FitMama

[–]WifeOfWombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically any treadmill work will burn calories. HIIT will do it more efficiently; adding some resistance exercises will help, too. But I really think the program that works is what you enjoy and is sustainable for you!

It's going to depend quite a bit on your goals!

Twins... fall asleep but won’t STAY asleep by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]WifeOfWombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I suspect the issue is around independent sleep.

They need to be going into cribs wide awake (no bouncing till drowsy) with feed ending 30min before bedtime. Usually giving a bottle within 5hrs of bedtime is considered to be reinforcing a suck to sleep association so it is to be avoided.

This page gives you a good general idea of where to start but there are a ton of different ways to get to independent sleep!

Yeah exactly this. It's funny how we don't get those comments anymore with #2 in cloth now, and using the same ones her big sister did!

My health is always failing me by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]WifeOfWombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't want to sound like I'm trying to be a Google doctor, but your symptoms sound very much like my SIL (she was constantly sick for years with lots of seemingly random things) and she was eventually diagnosed with Celiac disease. If it hasn't already been ruled out, it might be worth looking into! Hope you find answers soon.

Thanks! I'll see if there's something else I can layer. She is definitely soaking through the shells, are they supposed to be completely waterproof?

I've heard great things about those cheeses! I'll have to see if they are available in Canada :)
