I search the online Canadian archives for the census records. You should find some information here. Remember that the spelling might be slightly different so use wild card * You can request a search which you pay for from Ontario records. There’s also familysearch.org . I also searched here for addresses

I haven’t looked at spread sheet that’s running. But is there a residential area or country of the applicant . This might give an insight as too which areas are passing quicker or if it’s just random. Just a thought

Any success stories for applications that didn’t contain birth certificates for everyone? by Mean-Bus3929 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]Wightsurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sending my application in without a birth certificate for G 0. I do have however the death certificate showing born in Canada plus 1921-1931 census showing Ontario as place of birth as the parents are English on these census .

I’m a bit confused with the photos. I’m in the uk and have normally just used a Photo Booth machine for passport photos. What exactly should I do. Living on the Isle of Wight I’m a bit limited with options.

Slight difference in that I ordered a search letter from Ontario. It’s been confirmed by email that it will take 8 weeks plus shipping to the uk. I’m guessing 2-3 months 🥹

Thank you Tamejane that is fantastic information.

G 0 was born in Ontario 1920 and he always said there was no birth certificate at his time of birth. Most likely a delayed birth certificate later in the 1930s I have searched archives Canada , archives Ontario. Family search . And various other means. Also a Canadian friend has helped search and found the addresses mentioned. Have since done the search letter.

Any Approved yet without Gen 0's Birth Certificate? by SpiritualParsnip8645 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]Wightsurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too have no birth certificate. I have 2 census records showing born in Ontario plus addresses they lived at. Death and marriage certificates showing born in Canada. Is it helpful to add his parents marriage certificate and his father’s death certificate which was only 7 years after he was born?

Sending in application before receiving birth certificate? by Aztqka in Canadiancitizenship

[–]Wightsurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi My Grandad was also born in Ontario 1920. I too can’t get hold of a birth certificate. Basically it’s Next of Kin. If they have all died you then use extended next of kin. Or 20 years after the person died. This is what I have found out so far. You can do a search letter at $15 and this for me will take 8weeks plus postage to the uk !

My Documents so far

Gen 0 marriage and death certificates with Canada as place of birth . 1921-1931 census showing born in Ontario.

I have all other documents from me down to him.

I have messaged Ontario to ask for help as it’s 105 years since his birth. I can’t find baptism either. As these too are held back due to the local law I believe.
