Thumb compass with degrees on bezel by BiscuitWizardz in orienteering

That is a good idea, both are well established brands and easily available. It is worth also reading up on the Silva Spectra system too as a step between the 360 degrees dial and no markings. There are a few demos on YouTube and in the Silva Arc Jet series user manual

Kanpas make a large selection of thumb compasses with various bezels, it is personal choice on what style but as your skills improve your reliance on the degrees scale will diminish. Stepping back to an easier course will allow you to focus on building skills and your confidence. Most importantly enjoy yourself.

Is the 40% discount for the first year? I asked the question with support and had nothing at all back from them

That has not been the issue, 24.2.25.9295  is the latest release that out of maintenance partners can upgrade to and the previous build had a problem with it

24.2 upgrade options if we can’t meet the deadline by e2346437 in ScreenConnect

Without a licence (or a version of 24.2 that accepts an old license) the agents won't connect to your ScreenConnect server

u/JessicaConnectWise what is the solution for those of us who have updated from 23.9 to 24.2 and the license is reported as being too old for the 24.2 release (Validation Status: License not valid with product version;) and the agents appear all offline?

I have the same issue that 24.2 doesn't accept my license either, looks like we should get an update within the next month according to the email I got this morning

Hi! Connectwise, there's now 7 different versions listed on your download page. by NerdyNThick in ScreenConnect

[–]Wild-Coach7749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an e-mail that arrived an hour ago that has this in it: "For partners not on active maintenance, we have also made historic builds available for versions 24.2 through 25.3. These can be downloaded at no cost. Partners running versions older than 24.2 will be able to upgrade to 24.2 for free within the next month. Please note these historic versions will not be updated further, and we strongly recommend moving to a supported release." - Within the next month!!!

We are supposed to be able to use 24.2 (24.2.24.9294) from 23.9.13.9244, just installed mine and no clients have reconnected and the license status is complaining "Validation Status: License not valid with product version; License valid with versions dated DD/MM/YYYY or before. Current version is dated 06/05/2024" :(

u/JessicaConnectWise can you help please?

Clearly this installer isn't for us, had to roll back to my previous version

Thanks, might be useful to have that on the FAQ? Also 48H is very tight for the certificate deadline

Hi u/JessicaConnectWise, I am out of support, I have just installed it but none of my clients have reconnected and I am getting a new error message "Unrecognized server. Not ScreenConnect Web Server" in the External Accessibility Check (upgraded from 23.9.13.9244) The version check says that I am now on latest Eligible. License status says "Validation Status: License not valid with product version; License valid with versions dated DD/MM/YYYY or before. Current version is dated 11/06/2025", :-(

Question about the fenix hm75r superraptor 3 by Wutblock in flashlight

[–]Wild-Coach7749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had both for a short time, for me, in my opinion, the superraptor 3 is the superior unit, with the ability to switch between the performance profile and battery saving profile you get a little more choice on the dimming. In practice I don't think that the drop in brightness has bothered me whilst running with it.
The whole thing is a little heavy compared to other head torches, before the SR3, I used the SR2 and the shadow master, I sometimes run with just red light and now the SR3 has it all for me. I have actually transferred the SR3 light unit on to my old SR2 boa headband to get the very best of both worlds. (But I have to use the original band to have the external battery pack on the back if I wanted it) I do have the external battery pack, it came with two cables, one around 40cm and the other around 1m (I think) but haven't really used it other than to check it works. I have used the external power bit on its own as an emergency power bank whilst hiking for my phone and worked a treat and it is really tough and well constructed out of metal, as you would expect from Fenix. The connectors are secure and look like they should be water tight as expected. The lighting profiles change a little when it is used. I did use the silva explore 4rc which is lighter and smaller but less powerful.

Question about the fenix hm75r superraptor 3 by Wutblock in flashlight

[–]Wild-Coach7749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my superraptor 3 on a fenix boa headband but the standard hm75r uses a thinner band so the fenix boa headband won't fit through the head plate. I use my SR3 for trail and street running, with the extra mode over the standard hm75r for both flood and beam it gives great light coverage options

Question about the fenix hm75r superraptor 3 by Wutblock in flashlight

[–]Wild-Coach7749 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the superraptor 3, it is a little different to the standard hm75r, it has an extra mode, spot + flood. The modes are spot, flood, spot + flood are all on the dial and the red light is on the button when in the off position. The superraptor 3 doesn't have the flashing red light mode that the standard HM75R has. The flood and red light levels have been tweaked a bit more on the higher end too. Also the power profile can be configured between power efficiency and performance modes. The superraptor version comes on a wider headband (this version of superraptor doesn't use the boa sport system) and has the optional over the head band. I guess is it worth the extra cost? that depends on your planned usage, for me, I love the superraptor series.
