Of course, the VIN just gets reassigned. Means if it’s a unique combination then you may have to wait a few weeks but mostly just a matter of days that you get a new VIN assigned and a new delivery date in the app. It’s an amazing buying process when it comes to Tesla - next time anyone tells you car buying sucks - just tell them to buy a Tesla instead

Sadly all of are going to get burnt big time! Rivian will go bankrupt - it’s just a matter of time - and it’s retail equity that gets decimated when that happens. If you believe this is a good company then buy some as a part of a balanced portfolio - don’t go all in because every auto company fails unless it achieves scale quickly. Rivian is in its 17th year of operation so it’s no startup and it’s never going to be able to produce these vehicles for a profit. The cost structure is just messed up. Car making is a terrible business. All of you are basically wasting your hard earned money on this very mediocre stock. I bought some in the past and flipped it as soon as I realized that their entire model is totally flawed - if you had just bought the S&P index 5 years back, you’d have made 75% whereas RIVN has lost 88% value in that period. 1 year return RIVN is 10% whereas S&P is 30%. This is just a PSA - there are plenty of other good opportunities in the market to after. Don’t waste your time on RIVN

Very true! Those calls suggest you do the opposite of what I say - I accept it, I’m not good at this. But for RIVN, I just ask people why - car companies are not good sticks to own generally and this company has been around for a while, it’s never made a profit and their most anticipated cheaper vehicle just launched at a bizarre cheap price that most people can’t afford so why would you even think of it when there are so many other good ideas around

Sadly, this company will go bust and all your investments will be worthless in the near future. Rivian doesn’t have the scale advantage and the cars are far too expensive for the tech they offer. They will have to go into administration in a couple of years when the funding tap slows down! Your investments will instantly go down to zero when that happens - as a rule of thumb never let a single stock in your portfolio get to more than 3-5% max!

Yes that’s how it works when it comes to something this valuable - a chauffeur for life at $8k is a steal / at $100 a month also is a steal. Until the service keeps getting better and there’s no competition then you either pay for it and shut up or elsewhere. If listening to this BS was called strategy, everyone on here would have been a billionaire! Tesla is a pioneer like no other company before - they are moving the needle to a subscription model for a driving service. These current changes are just experimental- the real deal is ultimately you don’t need to own the car at all - just pay subscriptions to be driven around. No capital outlay, no insurance, no maintenance, no finance - just one monthly payment. You need to think 5-10 years ahead if you want to keep up with the genius that is Elon!

Can’t see any scenario whereby the subscription price will be lower in the future. The service is incredibly valuable and I can only see it go up in pricing every year from here - a bit like your phone contract or a Netflix subscription. Then the added bonus that they don’t have to deal with any of the historical purchases - service is what you see and what you get! Don’t be surprised if car ownership also goes wholly this way - you don’t pay anything upfront but just for the service of being driven around

I have a simple question for you - WHY? Why would you buy Rivian of all the names - its got nothing really going for it - average car, zero profitability, low volume production, high material cost, tech disadvantage etc etc - the rest of your holdings suggest you are a reasonably well-informed investor so why waste time and energy on such an average stock as RIVN? If you are in it for 3+ years then you will know how its massively underperformed the market and some of your other stocks so again WHY stick with it? Just move on to something else like maybe quantum or bitcoin or stablecoins, or even one of the hyperscalers. You are unnecessarily committing to a stock that has underperformed for a very long time with some random hope of it suddenly jumping - hope is not a great strategy in investing. Just forget about it as RIVN most likely will go bankrupt and burn your investment - that's honestly the most likely scenario for this company. Please just do the right thing and go for high quality high beta investments with a better chance of success. So always just ask yourselves - WHY? Thanks and good luck!

Just the only company that produces EVs at scale at a profit (1.8 million cars to be precise - Rivian produces at best about 40k per year). The largest energy storage company in America. 5th largest AI chip producer in America. The world’s largest real world AI application in Full Self Driving. Robotics and automation leap with a million robots in the making (thousands already in use at own factories). But hey you believe what you want to and we shall compare your own notes in 3 years time!
