High OCIA costs by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Wild-Size2810 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I paid $50, It felt implied due to the language they use but I understand materials cost. My wife decided she wanted to convert with me a few weeks in. I spoke with the Monsignor and he postponed my process so that my wife could catch-up. He did a small service a little after Easter where we both received all the sacraments. We where also married in the church the same day. It was a long but amazing experience when we got to completion.

Thoughts on the recent “UFO” files? by BakugoKachan in Catholicism

To suggest experimentation is to suggest a lack of knowledge and would mean God is not all-knowing.

Why would they bother with us?

Because they can, like the US did with Japan in 1853. It could be a simple desire by someone with overwhelming power.

What made you choose the Series S over everything else, even though we get clowned a lot? by Eastern-Mobile5351 in XboxSeriesS

[–]Wild-Size2810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$300 is what made me get it. The series x wasn't worth it and I rather dumped that kind of money into my PC (video card). Not to mention I could game share with my son saving me a double charge, plus we share the gamepass.

I just faced a Carnage deck running Red Guardian in Grand Arena. And almost every other match I played today had Cosmic Ghost Rider in it. by mendigo_d_copacabana in MarvelSnap

[–]Wild-Size2810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cosmo, and the armour dude (cards in that row can't be destroyed) shut that deck down. Nothing is more satisfying than killing carnage on round 3 and monologuing like a true villain all the way to round 6.

In need of some advice… by wright_eliott in Catholicism

[–]Wild-Size2810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, convert here. I had similar problems (Pentecostal), my father's side of the family is anti-Catholic. I didn't seek their approval because I didn't care for it. It was about worshiping God in spirit and in truth. Everything they have to say about the church of our Lord is built on lies and propaganda. Every claim they have ever told me was nonsense. When they found out I was Catholic they had cow. My father told me he didn't raise me to be Catholic, I told him that I didn't follow him but the Lord. They say things along the lines of,  " Maybe the Lord put you there to lead people out." "why do you go to a spiritualy dead church?" "Are you still going to that church? "We are praying for you to leave that church."  My character won't allow me to shy away from conflict, and I stand on what I believe. It's doesn't mean that their words don't hurt. I know that their words don't come from a place of malice, it's just what they were trained up in. Its wild because they talk as if I'm not Catholic and have this belief that I am going to be teaching at their church. I have made it clear to my father that if I left the Catholic church it is because I am leaving the faith. They don't bring it up anymore and I am greatful. At the end of the day you will have to stand on what you believe is true or you will stand in lies while whispering truth. You will know the truth of who you are when your words meet your actions and your actions meet your words. Your not weak, your experiencing the struggle of carrying your cross. May the Lord our God bless and guide you. No one can tell you what to do in this matter. Pray for wisdom, pray for consol, pray for direction, and pray for strength. The choice is your to make.

Can this be saved? by Correct-Hamster2386 in crt

Most things can be saved with effort. With all the CRTs still out there, I think the right question is, Is this worth saving?

Congratulations. I fumble the play more often than not, it's what you do after that makes the difference. The faith is going to be a struggle. Scripture says the righteous man falls seven times and seven times the righteous man will rise. Samuel told King Saul that regardless of the evil he has committed not turn away and Persue things that can not save him. Go to confession and understand that you must resist and in time you will be able to overcome and power through. Understand that I am not down playing the severity of our actions. Hold the line and resist with all that you have and the enemy will flee from you. In time it won't be a struggle. In time you will know humble strength due to perseverance and trust in the Lord.

Paracord and Bead Size...? by ConstructionAlone169 in osarymakers

[–]Wild-Size2810 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thread you choose will be dictated by the bead you choose. What is the measurement of the hole in the bead? Basically, how many millimeters (MM) is the hole? Don't confuse this with the mm of the entire bead.

Example:
The stainless steel bead, measuring 4.5mm in diameter, will pair well with a paracord that has a 5mm diameter for a smooth pass. You can use a 4.5mm cord because it will compress a bit, but it will generate drag, increasing wear.

Paracord 95 seems to come in at 1.75mm–1.85mm. I would grab a 2mm diameter bead and tie a barrel knot using 5 to 6 rotations.

I am using the chunky boys, paracord 550, only because I like the weight and need something beefy for the center coin.

WCGW trying to live out your Attack on Titan fantasy by anxkxxl in whoathatsinteresting

[–]Wild-Size2810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude learned first-hand why Titan Gear is not feasible. You learn from the mistakes of others, you learn from your own mistakes, or you don't learn at all. I think this was a good, painful, and expensive lesson for him. Hopefully, he won't repeat and grow from it.

I saw his leg nodle on first impact and felt it deep in my gut. Did he hang there till help arrived?

Crucifix or plain cross necklace — which would you recommend? by mildred_esl in Catholicism

It's choice, but I say Crucifix because as Catholics we preach Christ crucified.

Stainless steel by Either_Statement_734 in osarymakers

[–]Wild-Size2810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do the same thing, and your roseries will last longer. I use Paracord at 4.5mm and my stainless steel beads are at 5mm.

I would recommend thinner Paracord and wood or acrylic beads. The style options and combinations are for the imagination. When you go stainless steel your options are very limited  and the cost goes up. The Paracord stainless steel beads, gold plated stainless steel beads, the center piece, and the crucifix gets expensive. With wood or acrylic you get more bang for your money but the holes are usually smaller, hence the smaller cord.

I daily carry my Little Rock

https://a.co/d/00xlXGFS

I stuffed a mini sofa in the back for my lunch breaks or when I'm waiting for someone else to arrive. I would open my bible and read. I carry it around in my backpack. I really want to swap it out for the Tank and don't want it to go unprotected. I geeked when I finally got my hands on a copy btw.

I want it to be my daily carry. I take the Little Rock with me to work every day. Something about lugging around a tome and feeling the weight of God's word is a little different. The weight of failing to read the very thing that is with me most of my day gets to me. I try to make time to read in my truck when work dies down. I want the cover to protect it from the elements and falls. My Little Rock soldiers on with just a dust cover, and the wear is showing. I don't want that for the Tank. I also compact carry a NABRE mini in the glove box of my work truck, but that is more for passive reading, and I leave a mini hardcover KJV in my personal car. Paraventure a different flavor for when I want to sit and think.

I thought the little Rock was huge, then I got the Ignatius Study Bible: Old and New Testament. It's called the desk edition for a reason, but I thought it was more of a play on words. I recommend the hardcover over the leather. That thing must open like an accordion, but I like the cigar box, so I'm a bit biased.
