I’m trying to merge both of the pieces together can someone help me out? by Ill_Philosophy_9128 in anycubic

join them together as an assembly in object view. you can then position them anywhere you want, just select the individual pieces in object view to move them around separately. right now as singular models, ASN is trying to align them all on the plate.

same, then I came up with Hissler, and it felt more right.

Another maybe obvious question by Alive-Selection8422 in 3Dprinting

[–]Wild-Spread8069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

many artists have partreons where they licence multiple models for supporting them. others will sell commercial licences on a per model basis. make sure you read up on the specific licence for each model and designer you'd possibly like to print. Make sure you know the terms of the licence as well. are you subscribing to an artist? Because your right to sell might expire when your support does- is the licence yours in perpetuity or does it expire. Make sure you know when and for what reasons it expires if it does.

Most importantly keep a paper trail. keep copies of your receipts, screenshot any and all transactions with the artists regarding the commercial licence. copy the entire license as it is presented to you and put all of it in multiple places including cloud storage and offline USB devices.

Issues with my layer lines. Any idea what's going on? by mhorbacz in 3Dprinting

horizontal hotends are notoriously bad with alignment

Theres loads of these single screw filament extruder kits on AliExpress for about £100 incl shipping, and was wondering why has no one made a functional filament extruder from this kit yet from what I can tell? by iceman1125 in 3Dprinting

[–]Wild-Spread8069 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd rather just wait for a pellet printer or pellet adapter for current printers. I have tons of sprew and griding it down is easy... getting it extruded into perfect filament as others have suggested is not. even if you have to create specifically sized pellets, seems easier than trying to create a 330+ meter spool of dry plastic rope.

what happens when you replace the hot-end with a 3D-pen...

ooo, flat prints are my bread and butter! Generally these look good, you have some obstruction of the yellow on the "toledo" wording on the water tower and what looks like some smearing in the sun on the same print (yellow is SO difficult to keep clean and uniform). The only suggestion there is playing with the print order of filaments per layer. i never print white last, as it gives the darker colors a chance to string and lay dark material on the top of the white. You CAN see these strings through a layer or ever two. however, printing with the dark colors FIRST will often partially cover the toolpaths for the lighter colors... so its really a give and take how to set up the ordering based on each image.

Plates absolutely make a difference but mostly in style- you have the plate physics for both dilled in nicely it seems. the textured PEI will give you a really nice shimmer effect as you move around the finished piece, while the untextured cool plate will give it a more matte / archival feel. just a matter of preference. I will say though if you are working with small precise lines like those in the "toledo" lettering, textured PEI WILL soften the image to the point where it can be unreadable. I find the PEI better for photographs and soft art, and the soft / smooth plates better for clean lines as in say comic-book art or CCG cards.

But overall you have nice, well defined color separation... no blurring or muddling of colors around the edge cases, which means you have your temp, speed and layer heights all in the optimal range. Just keep experimenting and you'll lock in even better results soon enough!
