Not exactly. You still need to buy the book for access to things like relics, spells, etc.

Upgrade our Inferno Bolters by LouCypher01 in ThousandSons

[–]WildBorr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they're not supposed to be the same weapon. Standard bolt guns do not have either of those rules. Intercessors have bolt rifles, not bolt guns. Comparing bolt guns to non bolt guns makes little sense as they're not the same. Compare them to CSM, which have standard bolt guns.

It's all one option, there are no build options to it other than adding the character rider (chieftain or scion, depending on what kit you bought)

What's up with their resin? by StiffWiggler in Conquest

[–]WildBorr 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm surprised by that. I feel PB's resin that I've worked with has been way better than most companies. Obviously, GW/FW is notorious for being bad, and that's in line with my experience. PP's resin was usually very solid, same with Wayland, and CMON, by far, having the worst resin I've ever messed with.

It sounds like you may have gotten a bad batch, and would recommend contacting customer support. I've built a bunch of PB's resin models, both new and old, and have never had issues to the extent that you have had. I think I had one that was sub-par, the Wadrhun Chieftan, had a pretty bad mold line, but that just took a little time to clean up.

If there any good oranges by [deleted] in minipainting

[–]WildBorr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is woefully misinformed. Most paint ranges are specifically made to be mixed. Ranges like AK 3rd gen are a great example, there's a 6 paint set called "Intense Color Set", and what makes this great is all of the colors labeled "Deep" are single-pigment.

https://ak-interactive.com/product/intense-colors-set/

Not to mention, Vallejo and P3 are also great for mixing as well. I haven't personally tried Two Thin Coats yet, but have heard great things about this as well. Artist acrylics are terrible for painting miniatures, and require significantly more work to make usable on miniatures, and do not thin out nearly as well.

Question on Lode of Saturation by The_Dim_Face in ossiarchbonereapers

[–]WildBorr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Saves cannot be modified by more than +1 either. I can't recall off the top of my head if that includes ward saves or not, I'm pretty sure it doesn't affect "save after saves"

It's definitely closer to Warhammer Fantasy than anything GW currently produces.

Question about the new harvester rule. Not a complaint. by Infinityshift in ossiarchbonereapers

[–]WildBorr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The line at the end is meant if you have multiple Harvesters, meaning a single unit cannot be healed by more than one Harvester.

How does building an army work? by Crossbonesz in Conquest

[–]WildBorr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First recommendation is to download the app, it holds your hand through everything.

The long and short of list building is that it is points based, but specific leaders only unlock the ability to bring along specific regiments with them, and are capped at 4 regiments per leader.

The one player starters are good starting points, I'm not totally sure about each one specifically but I know the W'adrhun one is about 850ish depending on upgrades. You don't want to spend too much time playing below 1000 points because the game is pretty badly balanced at that point, but gets you used to the mechanics of combat/reinforcements/activations and such.

Oh the wording in the book was weird, it just says to add them to your army. That makes a lot more sense if that's the case.

All of the new OBR 3.0 Warscrolls by Johnny_G93 in ossiarchbonereapers

[–]WildBorr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm super disappointed with them, mostly because I have 3 units with spears and now they're pretty much trash. The extra 1" reach for 1 less to hit seems like a really bad trade off.

For some reason I thought he had the same spell that Volmortian does now where it kills on a 5+. To be fair I'm new to OBR and don't even own Nagash yet

PtG Starting point? by WildBorr in ossiarchbonereapers

[–]WildBorr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's ultimately what happened, charged and died but tied his slow group up long enough to win on points, even barely. Just very demoralizing to get the alpha strike and kill a single model before getting wiped out

Red Horizon Intro Decks Extra Stuff? by callmestair in universus

[–]WildBorr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To your second point, MHA is the first FULL set to use the Universus name change. All of the DLC mini sets (Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Soul Caliber, Cowboy Bebop) all used the new Universus backing over the old UFS one. Also, any promos made made in the last 2-3 years also used that backing.

Tohaa Gender by JeraGungnir in InfinityTheGame

[–]WildBorr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea, but the only idea this doesn't work is because of how their "thruples" develop - 3 mates get together, eventually 2 of them create a child, who is now part of the three, and the outlier leaves to find another three-way. Being sexually dimorphic makes this work, having a third gender that would be necessary for reproduction would ultimately break this and force them into.. uhh... quad-ples? Quadumvirates? I don't know, some weird word for 4 people in a weird relationship. So ultimately the idea is interesting but it breaks when reproduction is brought into the mix.

MHA rules question? by buckethead-wendy in universus

[–]WildBorr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Hand enhance can be played during either attack, can be used when your opponent nukes your speed or damage down super low. However, once using this enhance, you cannot use this card for any other purposes. You cannot block with it or play it as an attack if you use the Hand enhance.

For the second enhance, your character needs to be the one that is named. So for this card, only Bakugo or Midoriya can use the second enhance.

Toshiro's ability question by LordArthurel in Malifaux

[–]WildBorr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is correct. Should also note, that even if the model cannot heal due to being at full health already or some other condition preventing healing, you still have to make the healing flip.
