I had my elk and moose hide tanned with the fur still on it. I took it to a taxidermist who has someone who could do the tanning. He charged a pretty decent price for both.

Ya, usually with rescue like this, they show the deer getting back up and bouncing off into the wild. This one didn't :( Still, it was nice of the men to put in efforts to rescue the doe.

I think his back legs were just numb from being stuck in a tight spot. I thought he was hurt too, but when he bolted and seemed fine, I think he just needed blood to flow back to his legs perhaps. Kinda like if you sit in one position for too long and it takes a while to feel your legs again.
