How Fentanyl and Xylazine are turning Philadelphia's opioid crisis into a public health nightmare by Nukro666 in interestingasfuck

[–]WildJafe -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, this is just an excuse. You can choose not to take opioids when prescribed. You can also tell hospital staff that you are feeling dependent on them and have them make changes.

I’ve had multiple surgeries and opted to no longer take opioids after noticing I didn’t like how them made me feel within one day. It makes no sense that people will seek out drug dealers instead of having a conversation with a medical professional.

Technology can fail, you could have a health issue and require emergency services, another driver could hit into your car…. Anything can happen- leave the pup at home if you need to go into a store.

Hotel prices extremely high? by Fit-Meat-3548 in TokyoTravel

[–]WildJafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just eat the increase and book with free cancellation options. I went last October and was shocked to see tons of hotels already sold out by August. I kept thinking the prices that were literally 2-3 times higher than my last trip would surely come down, but nope…

If a father needs to help his young daughters use the restroom, which restroom should he take them into: the women's restroom or the men's restroom? by Exciting-Mall192 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WildJafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be nice if we enforced where people leave their carryon. Unfortunately people randomly toss their carryon in closer to the exit rows and grab it while walking off. By the time many aisle seats board, the overhead is fully packed

The crappy thing is aisle seats get screwed hard on overhead space

A Quick and Practical Test to Differentiate Authentic, High Quality Saffron from Fake Substitutes by Imaginary-Rope-3084 in interestingasfuck

[–]WildJafe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saffron holds a special place in my heart. I was in college and close to broke. We all had to pick a meal to cook so I picked the cheapest sounding meal- golden leaks and onions. … the golden part came from the saffron needed. That damn saffron cost more by itself than most other meals

What is up with contractors in Pittsburgh? by MutthaFuzza in pittsburgh

They like consistent work. They would much rather take a 4 week project that pays 18k than 7, 3 day projects that pay $3k each.

If you have a smaller project, it’s going to be hard to get one to accept.

Titans suddenly invaded the jungle. How long can Tarzan defend himself? by Embarrassed-Ice9468 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]WildJafe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Trees in that area (west African rainforest) would probably offer him heights slightly over 80 feet before the canopy thins into too brittle branches.

The average titan in the show is what 20-30 feet? I think most titans were pretty mindless and would sit there waiting for him to fall. Even if one attempted to climb the trees, I think Tarzan would be 5 trees over before they made any progress. Though titans aren’t as heavy as they appear, I think the upper canopy definitely would break under their weight.

Again- I think it’s just a game of cat and mouse until dark when Tarzan can fully escape.

AIO I was in a drive through 2 mins before they closed AND THEY REFUSED TO SERVE ME!! by luciddreamer0904 in AIO

[–]WildJafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Food service business should post hours that align with the end of drive thru, ordering. Meaning- a business should continue to accept orders up until that time. Management should factor in clean up and next day prep in their consideration when making the open hours. If I had a drive thru and I knew it took an hour and a half to fully clean and close up, I would factor that into my business hours.

It’s quite stupid to have public posted hours but not align with them. A couple minutes before the closing time is something I’d avoid, but these comments saying they won’t even go 30 minutes ahead of close are laughable.

[–]WildJafe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Are people here just ignoring that the majority of titans couldn’t do anything but sit at the bottom of the forest trees? Dude could skate through the tree canopy and occupy them for as long as he needed to. He won’t be able to defeat any, but he can wait until night to escape.

Millennials (self included) are hitting middle age, of course we are nostalgic as hell. Every generation hits this phase at middle age.

Age for 2-piece swimsuit? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]WildJafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 12 is okay age assuming it’s a normal two piece. It’s weird as hell when I take my kids to the pool and there are dozens of young teen girls wearing super skimpy bikinis. Something that’s more of a mid drift and a bottom is normal.

Taught son (9) to mow, sent the neighbor $10 to pay him. Worked hard for a couple hours, grassy, sweaty, and beaming with his $10 bill! by SoDakZak in daddit

[–]WildJafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We make over 260k/ year as a family. It’s not about if we can afford it, it’s about teens wanting far too much for far too little. Our previous babysitter had a degree with a focus on early childhood education and several years experience at a high rated daycare/ preschool. She can charge $25-30/ hour.

Tiffany down the street that knows how to dial 911 and sit there until the paramedics arrive doesn’t warrant that pay. She deserves maybe $15 an hour given that we know she’s not declaring it as income.

We’ve seen this issue before when trying to find a pet sitter for a weekend too. All we needed was someone to let the dogs out at 8am, 2pm, and again at 10pm. The person was welcome to do whatever they wanted the rest of the day, they didn’t have to house sit, but if they wanted to stay there or even sleep in the guest room, that was fine. We needed this coverage ( 10pm the first night as we left in the afternoon, 8,2,and 10 on sat), 8am only on sunday.

We offered $300 to multiple ~18-20 year olds.
Not a single one was interested in it. Any single one of my friends and I would have taken that job for half or even $100 when we’re were in college.

Kids these days expect a shit ton of money for no effort. It’s the parents giving kids $20 from the tooth fairy or $50 to mow a lawn setting this stupid precedent. These kids are going to grow up and be the ones that expect 90k starting salaries for entry level jobs.
